It took 40 minutes to get through to talk to someone but when I did they were very helpful and I had a call back from the doctor in a couple of hours

I have been with the surgery for nearly 25 years. All the staff, from the dispensary and receptionists to the GPs are friendly and helpful. I have never had a problem getting appointments, some even same day. I recently had to contact my GP regarding a review of my medication and she listened to my request and suggested a referral to a private consultant. After finding a consultant I needed an urgent referral as I had been given the option of an appointment within 3 days and so the referral was done by 8am the following day. They have also been extremely supportive over the last 18 months with myself needing frequent appointments due to my daughter being in hospital for an extended length of time.

I can only praise the service I have recently received from my GP and other clinical staff in their thorough investigation of my complex health conditions of late. I’ve also been impressed with the courtesy of the administration staff in helping find reports from hospital appointments and making appointments for me at the surgery. I feel in particular that when I saw my GP today he was extremely attentive and listened to me try and explain what’s going on. I feel he responded with positive solutions which have made me feel that I’m being looked after, hopefully we can get some results to help with the symptoms that are currently making life challenging.

Tried to make an appointment to see dr who sent text saying happy to discuss concerns about medication plus dealing with a life changing diagnosis a telephone call isn’t enough a better system for patients dealing with life changing diagnosis with no cure of treatment and no ideal of anything

I contact the surgery around 9am asking to speak to a doctor. A doctor called me around 9.15, I was then given a 10am appointment. I saw a doctor in training who gave me a thorough examination with the GP popping in to see how things were going. After a short communication my GP contacted Salisbury hospital and I was admitted to the Acute Medical Ward at 12 noon. A GP who listened, a trainee doctor who did a thorough investigation and initially a receptionist who realised there was a problem. Without all of these components fitting together I’m not sure what the outcome for me would have been for me. I am very grateful for the quick action of the surgery, it wasn’t what I wanted to happen, ending up in hospital but delaying could have been serious. This episodes was an exact repeat of November 2022 with just as quick a response time.

I have had lots of contact , treatment & procedures over the past weeks. All staff are caring, flexible, calm under pressure and vigilant . I had the misfortune to be attended to at an outpatient private clinic for similar procedures and it was a shocking how the private practice has diluted their quality standards whilst a surgery like Fordingbridge has kept the highest of standards under more pressure . The equipment, cleanliness and it systems are better the responses are as good as they can be and the friendliness of the doctors is off the chart. This is a reflection of the team there as a business unit managing difficult economics and not at all a feather in the cap of the policy makers in our current government who do nothing but fail these tremendous fordingbridge people.

Knowing how resources are stretched I did not expect to get such a rapid appointment. I understand that I may have been lucky with the circumstances but was delighted to be seen at short notice. The consultation was thorough and unrushed. It is nice to report such a positive response to help with this specific problem.

I've seen three different doctors other than my registered GP since February 2023 and they have all given me a high level of professional expertise and I was seen very quickly. In the 32 years I have been with this practice the staff and GPs have always shown me dignity and respect.
