  2. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

Contrary to a lot of reviews on here the receptionists were lovely but the appointment was not. I waited 2 weeks after booking online, was assigned a nurse appointment, when I went in she was unclear about what I was here for despite me detailing it in the appointment booking. When I explained what the issue was, which I had detailed in my booking, she said oh I can’t do that you need to see a doctor. I waited 2 weeks, left work early and waited 20 mins beyond my appointment time for that. It’s unbelievably frustrating and I despair for people who have ongoing more serious issues. I will now attempt to make an appointment with a doctor which I imagine will be in another couple of weeks so I’ll have waited a month to get any type of help. I’d go to another practise but reading the reviews it’s seems like GP care in Eltham is terrible across the board.

  3. Review titled Disappointed & Apalled by Phone Consultation

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2024

Appt time was: 14:20 Hrs; I was called at 15:10 Hrs. (50 mins late). Listed the following medical issues to a Doctor because they are cause for concern and anxiety; finding blood in my sputum; chest pains reported months ago; Cannot get an appt with the Lung Health Check Centre; A cream was prescribed for a skin disorder which is not working even after two wks of application. Dr. Didn't appear concerned; told me Emp have done their job by providing me with a contact No. for Lung Health Centre. It is niw upto me to arrange that irrespective if I cannot get one. Brill!!! All other problems were 'in hand' and I just have to wait my turn on the NHS for appts and treatment like evrybody else. If I am not happy with waiting, then I should think about going Private. How caring and understanding!? This Dr was not just listening to my concerns; but was patronising to say the least in his responses; talking down to me all the time as though I was at school and needed scolding. He was not in the least interested in what I had to say or request. In fact he told me he will terminate the conversation because tere is nothing he could do to help me. So, I terminated the conversation myself, and save him the pain and trouble. What an apalling practice. Deeply, deeply disappointed and disgusted with the attitude of some of these practioners. You will get better service in the Prison Service.

I put in a repeat prescription 2 weeks before my medication ran out. I received a questionnaire for completion which was completed and emailed back the same day. It takes two weeks to be reviewed at which time I’m told an appointment is required. I finally get through on the appointment line, only to be told the earliest appointment is 4/4, a month from my request and I’m now out of medication

  6. Review titled Significant shortcomings

Rated 1 star out of 5

My nine-year-old son has recently been prescribed a series of tests for his potential allergies. So far, we have been waiting to receive his results for the past four weeks. In that time, I have not been contacted by the GP however, on my personal request, I have been able to receive a partial copy of his test results showing allergy to peanuts. I will add that at this point nobody even attempted to call and discuss his potentially life-threatening allergy. I am still awaiting further test results exploring additional allergies and I am yet to wait additional two weeks for a phone consultation. After multiple discussions with receptionists, unfortunately, I have not been able to secure the release of his test results. I am deeply disappointed with the care of this practice, the triage system seems to be absolutely scandalous, and I certainly would be looking at alternative providers in the area

  7. Review titled Have I been prescribed incorrect medication?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024

I have been prescribed Diazepam now 3 or 4 times because I am terrified of flying, it is a complete phobia. I have had to try and reach the doctor 4 times the past week to get some more as I have a flight coming up and have ran out. I filled out an online form in the end to which a doctor responded; ‘Your request for Diazepam has been rejected. Diazepam is neither licensed or recommended to treat phobias like the fear of flying.’ So why have I been prescribed it before? Why does it say on the front of the prescription box ‘for fear of flying’? I am now having to get on a flight next week completely unprepared and terrified. Clearly one of my doctors has lied to me or prescribed me incorrectly. What can I do from here? Will be moving my doctors as soon as I can- this is disgusting.

I arrived at Well Hall surgery today for a shingles vaccination. I had phoned the practice last week to see if I was eligible and given today’s appointment. The nurse decided that I was too early (she had a list and apparently I’m due in September). If that’s the case then fine but why let me take a morning from work without advising me that I was going to be turned away? Pay for missed appointments - that should go both ways!!!!!

I came yesterday to give blood as I am disabled I came a bit early with my wife, It was very busy so after a few minutes the receptionist asked us to move so I got up and said something not very nice to my self it was not supposed too meant for others to hear and as we were walking out the receptionist shouted that what I said and banned mme from coming there I was surprised about that as the comment was in no way towards her or her team. I would like to apologise if I have upset anyone.

  10. Review titled Understaffed and unable to provide basic services

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a surgery at Queen Elizabeth and they asked my dressings to be checked and changed by a nurse at my GP practice. 2 days in a row this practice has been unable to give be an appointment and has asked me to go to ugent care for it instead. They have 1 nurse to serve a vast region and high number of patients. Extremely dissapointing.

Dear Patient, Thank your for your feedback. Please accept our apologies that we were unable to offer you a nurses appointment, but unfortunately, one of our nurses left the practice and although we do actually have 2 nurses at the moment, we are short of appointments. We are in the process of recruiting another nurse, but until we are fully staffed in our nurses team and, so you get the correct care we would advise you either go urgent care or to the out of hours hub to get your dressing checked and changed. If you would like to discuss this further please contact the surgery and ask for our patient liaison officer. Regards EMP
