Calling the surgery and asking for medication to be ordered as I have just had a big operation and would be running out, I ordered the medication a full 48hrs before my medication was due to run out, called the surgery as there was nothing at the pharmacy and it still hadn’t been done along with my sick note I ordered, the receptionist said I can pass it to a different gp to do, Why? It was ordered in enough time like it states so surely all gp’s working should do prescriptions ? Now I’m left in pain while the receptionist try’s to get a gp to sign it off urgently for me which was all unavoidable. Always seems there is no clear system, I myself work in a gp surgery and this is not good, this is not my first experience of bad practice , I Hope something can be raised to stop this happening to anyone else especially elderly patients who would probably sit in pain without calling to chase things up.

My family has been registered with the practice for the last 4 years. The doctor is very experienced and has excellent knowledge of medicine. The doctor diagnosed my condition at a very early stage and referred me to the hospital. The hospital doctor said it saved my life. The staff at the surgery are very helpful and polite.
