Review titled Terrible annual health check

I attended my nurse health check on Tuesday and regretfully have to say how bad it was. When I arrived the nurse kept her head down there was no acknowledgement what so ever let alone a hello. During the process I explained I would be back on Friday for my injection which is for my cancer hormone treatment, again I found her manner to be abrupt and said without moving her gaze from the screen you won’t be seeing me.She then attempted to get a blood sample without luck and after getting the sample in the other arm said in future I must drink lots of water before I give blood again. Throughout the process I found her manner and nurse patient skills very poor to say the least, there seemed to be no care or empathy at all. It costs nothing to say hello or to ask how are you today. After being in hospital many times for my cancer treatment I am a huge fan of how wonderful the nurses are and I was so surprised in her attitude at my health check.

Having tried for weeks to get an appointment I decided to turn up at 8am only to be told all appointment were taken but I could see a nurse later that day I need to see a doctor I explained this but to no avail so don’t bother ringing at 8am to wait in a queue because I was there at 8am and the appointments were already gone

Appointment today 12am to be told they were closed & not open until Monday??? So why was I given an appointment to be told on the Phone they were closed.

Dear Norma, Thank you for taking the time to feedback this information. I can see you were booked an appointment for 12 noon on Saturday 6th January at the practice. Any appointments held on Saturdays are ran via our Primary Care Network as opposed to the practice team but are held in our building. The telephone system is not in operation on a Saturday as the practice team do not work on Saturdays. I am sorry for the confusion caused to you. I rang up as I was doing an E-consult, which then flagged and stated to ring the practice to speak to someone today. The receptionist who answered the phone stated 'it shouldn't have done that it should have just came through to us' clearly did not believe me and clearly not clued up on E-consults as I work for a GP practice and deal with these and E-consult does do this if it thinks that due to the answers the patient needs to be seen same day. I was offered an appointment for Monday... resulting in me having to go to hospital. Poor service and receptionists not very considerate when I have stated I had already attended A&E two weeks ago for this issue and under their guidance if this issue flared again I should be seen by a GP same day... Think I will be moving GP surgery only been with this surgery a few months and seem like they have no clue.

Can never get a face to face appointment tried 2 weeks ago had a phone consultation was told to take pain killers ended up at hospital had a infection in my leg which had spread tried to get appointment this morning nothing again

Almost impossible to get an appointment with a doctor. Tried to book an apointmemt with a diabetic nurse waited 58 minutes on the phone before someone answered. Only to receive platitudes, insincere apologies and feeble excuses. This cannot be considered acceptable in any way.

Having been with this practice for a while now I find them very well organised, helpful, and have always been well mannered in dealings with them from receptionist, nurses, doctors. Pharmacists, and drivers. I hear so many bad reports from around different parts of the country and I thank my lucky stars my practice is a practice I can rely on, so thank you all for looking after me.

i had a missed call on my phone. I tried ringing back and it said i was 17th in the que i have been on hold for 2hrs and my call has still not been answered.

Denton Turret Medical Surgery do extremely well. They deal with high demands and give the best service possible, under immense pressure. All the staff are very friendly including the pharmacy next door. Thank you for all your hard work. Especially in being there for both my parents in their senior years dealing with cancer. Thank you for the past 23 years. Here's to the next 23 years plus.

I think this practice has taken on too many clients and can not cope needs to be inspected I am done with them and going to look for some were else
