    I have been using this surgery all of my life and only in the last few years I have been deeply dissatisfied. I have no issues with the GP’s, however the service from the reception staff is poor. Firstly, it is almost impossible to get through via phone (understandably this could be beyond their control due to low staff numbers etc). Secondly, their manner in when speaking to them is terrible. They have a bad attitude and act like you are bothering them and are not very helpful. I have been standing at the desk before waiting to speak to someone and two of the staff were standing around chatting and leaving me to wait. I am going to change to another surgery because every time I have been in contact with the surgery recently has not been a good experience.

    Beyond the challenges the majority of GP practices are currently experiencing, this is a pretty reliable GP surgery and I’ve had some very positive experiences with some of the doctors here.

    Trying to get through regarding a mistake they had made with a repeat prescription on Friday evening and repeatedly hung up on without any words spoken. The phone was left to ring for over an hour.

    Today I had a very pleasant communication with a doctor at the practice as well as a manager. I received the attention I needed regarding prescriptions and very efficiently dealt with. I’m very grateful for the care and services from this medical practice. I am aware that the practice is currently working towards improving the service and I can see that this process is certainly happening.

    Responding quickly to any communication I have sent. Reception are helpful and when speaking to the doctors they generally seem to care & know my history. Great improvement.

    This review is based on this morning visit at 8.00am As directed by one of the reception staff last night (26th) I attended the surgery re my son. Initial interaction with reception was not very good but eventually phone consultation was booked to take place between 12noon and 1pm However, one of the GP called back within 20 mins and after consultation agreed to see my son face to face This demonstrates the GP's at the surgery are excellent. I have been with the practice for 25 years or so and I have never had a reason to say anything negetive about them (bssed on in-house GP's) The initial reaction mentioned earlier could have been handeled much better from both sides Perhaps a face to face meeting with the manager may be a way forward.

    I had a saturday appointment booked for about two weeks, on the Friday I received the appointment reminder text. When I turned up for my appointment on the saturday there was no member of staff inside and of course no one answering the phone. There was one other patient outside who also had an appointment, we waited for one hour. Both of us had taken the day off work for this appointment. Complete disregard for people's time, income and health. I have heard nothing from this practice all week.

    The experience was very good. The doctor very clearly explained the problem and gave solutions. He checked perfectly for any problems. Was very nice. Would definitely recommend the doctor for anyone with similar issues. The receptionist however, were awful. It made us uncomfortable when they laughed at a patient, a lot, because of a misunderstanding instead of trying to help them. I personally felt very, very uncomfortable and embarrassed for the patient who kept trying to talk to them but they just laughed and told him that whoever told him to go there was a ‘stupid doctor’.

    Been here 3 years now and it’s grim. I dread having to ring them. It starts with recorded announcements threatening that “abuse will not be tolerated”. And if they actually see you in person (fat chance) the receptionists are all cowering behind plexiglass. They seem to think they’re operating in a war zone. Most likely you’ll get a phone appointment. Which are max 10 minutes. They actually enforce that. The GP told me the other day she wouldn’t discuss a second concern of mine and that I’d need to go through the whole process again to get a new appointment for that concern. Overall it’s a humourless, inflexible, heartless place. I don’t recommend this practice at all. It isn’t a nice place to be a patient.

    Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback and sorry you had reason to complain. The barrier at reception is to allow staff to work within the COVID advice given by NHS England. The 10 minute phone call time is historical and allows the practice to contract as many patients as possible. Practice policy is that individual clinicians make the decision to see patients facet to face where necessary. You are welcome to speak to the new Practice Manager about your experience.     I have recently registered with this practice and have tried 3 times to see a Dr and still haven't managed to book an appointment. I'm now transferring to another GP with the hope I will be able to see a Doctor in person, good luck to those who try after myself.s
