  1. Review titled Good experiences

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I moved to this surgery after moving house a few months go. With a chronic illness be previously negligent surgeries, this surgery has somewhat restored my faith in the nhs ability to treat chronic patients. It can be hard to get an appointment on the day, and it can take a while to get through to the receptionist, but they are very helpful, and the ability to have non urgent routine appointments managing long term illnesses is brilliant, and seemingly rare these days. Receptionists are knowledgeable, patient and kind, and have a very good ability to triage. Nurses have been brilliant, and the doctors have followed up with high quality treatment and referring, ensuring I don’t fall through the cracks of primary care treatment. In the environment that it is hard to find a good surgery, this has been a wonderful place to receive treatment in an okay timeframe.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to write this comment/feedback. It’s extremely important for the team to hear from patients that have experienced a good service as they continue to work under immense pressures with demand increasing every day. It’s also helpful to know that our pre-booked appointments continue to be useful to patient groups like yourself. Thank you again Yours sincerely, Mrs C Marks Practice Manager

Dear Patient, Please accept my apologies for the issues you have experienced with our service. We have recently upgraded some changes to our phone system as our patient feedback was that patients would prefer to wait in a queue rather than the phones be engaged. There have been some technical issues, whereby for some unknown reasons callers have been cut off. I have the phone system company currently monitoring the incoming calls to ensure this has been resolved. However, our phone system is extremely busy, especially at peak times of the day and I can only apologise for any distress this has caused you. I would like to assure you we are trying our best to answer the calls as quickly as possible but some patients have complex needs and therefore take longer in order to support our most vulnerable. If you are able to attend the surgery, our reception staff are available at Church Surgery where you can speak to the team face to face to support any bookings. Please accept my apologies once again and we hope you understand the demand the services are under right now. If you are not satisfied with the response to your complaint you can ask the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to review your case. The Ombudsman's role is to consider complaints that government departments, a range of other public bodies in the UK, and the NHS in England, have not acted properly or fairly or have provided a poor service. 3. Review titled Very helpful reception staff

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Thankfully I have not needed to use the surgery much, but when I have done, I have found the reception team to go above and beyond. One member in particular who I have spoken with on a few occasions has always been extremely helpful, friendly and goes that extra mile to sort out my queries. Yes it’s not always easy to get through on the phone (as is the case in every surgery!), but when you do they’re an extremely helpful and friendly team. When I was not able to get an appointment, I was offered a remote GP video call at the weekend through Livi which was extremely easy to set up and a very efficient service. I know general practice as a whole is not in a good state throughout the country, and everyone in primary care is working tirelessly with the limited resources they have. Despite this, Church surgery are doing a fantastic job, and should be recognised for this. Thanks again to the whole team there!

Dear Patient, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. As you point out all practices are struggling within in the NHS and in particular primary care where demand has increased but resource has reduced for various reasons and we are doing our very best to provide efficient support and help to our patients under extreme pressures. The staff are working tirelessly and it is refreshing to the whole team to see that some patients do really understand and appreciate what the staff are up-against. If only more patients would realise that by behaving unacceptably towards staff in these valuable roles, only makes the situation worse and often forces staff to leave their posts that they dearly feel passionate about and generally care. Thank you once again, it will be a pleasure sharing this with the whole team. Yours sincerely, Mrs C Marks Practice Manager
