Review titled Fabulous Practice !
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gary Dyer - Posted on 07 June 2025
I’ve been lucky enough not to of accessed my g.p practice much at all over the years but when I’ve had to my goodness are they super efficient. I had a small problem that would settle and was worrying. I called and made an appointment and got one the next day thanks to a super professional and efficient receptionist. The Doctor called me in, he listened to my concerns and examined me most thoroughly. Further discussion going forward and it was agreed I met the fast track cancer services. I had extensive blood tests done at the surgery and an e.n.t appointment made. The e.n.t appointment was within a week at the outpatient’s qmc and thankfully was positive in that nothing was found. The blood results were on my phone within 2 days !. A couple of the results were abnormal, I used the app to message the surgery enquiring for an interpretation of my results. Within an hour I had a message a Doctor would be calling me that afternoon to discuss. Amazing !. The call came and all was explained by one of the Doctors in a most polite, kind and patient way. Thank you all for providing a superb service. Absolutely fantastic.

I would have recommended this practice a few months ago however "new blood" has decided they no longer make future appointments. You can call on the day I tried to call at 8am and was 28 in the queue. The voice message stated future appointments were released at 10.30 am. I got through to reception no appointments for the day. They refused to make a future appointment and said the only way to seea GP was to call on the day, if appointments had gone to go to A and E!!!!!! Absolutely disgusting its a gp I need not emergency care. This ractice is just awful not patient centred.

Review titled Gone downhill in the last 3/4 years
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 May 2025
I have been with this surgery a very long time - at least 19 years. They were superb. I don't know whether covid has affected the way things have changed, or whether it's a funding issue generally. But, I have not been able to successfully make a face to face appointment to see any GP there for the last year - even though I do have health issues. I cannot get a face to face appointment for love nor money. Tried making one via the NHS app, and it was cancelled. With no reason given. Text message sent from surgery advising me to phone up and re- book with reception, only to be told there are no face to face appointments available. Tried phoning myself every morning from Monday through to Friday at dead on 8am - line engaged continuously until 8.25am. When line becomes clear again , I am then told "all appointments have gone".... Tried this for a week solid - still couldn't get an appointment. It has become a joke to try to get an appointment - so now I don't bother. I am currently in the process of changing surgery to another one , as Chilwell Meadows don't seem to be bothered about older people getting Type 2 diabetes either. They tell you you're "Pre Diabetic", first, then just leave you to try and loose weight on your own, even when diabetes is already in your family history - so it's inevitable you may end up on "Metformin" or another medication - when you don't want to be on it.. I've had numerous problems with my leg swelling, multiple red patches on it, and being unable to walk on it sometimes - (I presume this is classified, as not urgent enough). I've had swelling of my eyes, and around my eyes on my face. Still can't get an appointment..!! So, I am afraid I've been patient enough, I'll be leaving once I've filled in the paperwork...

Review titled More stress at the worst time of my life
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Rosie Allright - Posted on 15 April 2025
My mother died in tragic and sudden circumstances. My husband called the surgery for me to make an appointment to get a sick note - he was told that the appointment could not be made in advance and he I would have to call on the day the appointment was needed. On said day 1 week later after over an hour on hold and getting cut off multiple times he was told I would get a call later that day. I waited by the phone all day but received no call. The next morning I called again at 8am and whilst in the queue was had a text come through today the appointment would be some time that day as apposed to the day before that was promised. Upon receiving the call the doctor did not offer any support or ask further questions about my wellbeing. The note I received had the incorrect date on. This experience has caused me more stress in the worst time of my time.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dr Jane McGregor - Posted on 03 February 2025
I have found all staff whom I've encountered, from the reception staff to my GP, very friendly and professional. They are attentive, effective communicators and always respond appropriately to my concerns. Making appointments is a straightforward process. I rang for an appointment today, for example, and was seen by my GP just over 2 hours later.

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 January 2025
I rang a I am suffering severe panic attacks and was in a&e Saturday night I rang the surgery to get a emergency appointment as the attacks are still happening was told no appointment and would ask dr and get back to me I heard nothing all afternoon then I had to ring back to be Told dr would not see me and to go somewhere else and you don’t deal with this sort of thing I find this cruel and just added to my attacks the link sent was invalid so still did not get the help I am absolutely disgusted by this attitude towards someone’s health especially after looking on nhs website who say to see your gp but to be told that’s not up to date is also cruel I am looking at moving gp surgery as this was not good enough

Review titled Poor customer care and poor health care
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2024
I rang in the morning 10 December 2024 at 8:36am and requested for a an appointment for my son sometime in the future like in one or two months as I already knew the answer that I won’t get same day or same week appointment. The receptionist told me I need to ring another morning and request for appointment. It’s just the GP’s tactic of delaying giving appointments. They make it took like they are too busy in the surgery and when we visit there is hardly any patient in the waiting area. Firstly, they misdiagnosed my son’s condition and wasted lot of time which made his condition worse. This has caused lot of stress to my son. The school is trying to refer him to school counsellor to support his mental health. Secondly, I had to pay the private healthcare to identify the actual issue with his health due to incompetence of the GP. On top of all I have to pay ridiculous amount of tax to pay for GP and the receptionist. It’s high time that you improve your service and patient care.
