    Longest waiting time for calls i’ve ever experienced! Reception staff are unhappy to be working there, or at least this is the feeling over calls. Also, being impossible to take a GP appointment online in 2024 - is ridiculous! I am new to the area, didn’t get a chance for an appointment as must be waiting hours on calls.. I will definitely change the Health Service Center as soon as possible. Very disappointed. Regards,

    I have been at Chigwell Medical Center for many years. I find the practice extremely professional. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Doctors are kind and see to your concerns making you feel at ease

    The Dr. made me feel highly valued as a patient. He was very thorough and attentive to detail, explaining clearly and I felt very assured by his advice and suggestions.

    Attempting to get an appointment with this surgery is futile. You can only ring at 8am or 1pm for appointments. Which is obviously very busy and not everyone had jobs that can accommodate you sitting on the phone for 1/2 hour or more to get an appointment. When eventually you do get through and are unlucky enough to get the receptionist called Sharon, she is antagonistic and very unhelpful. She told me I hadn’t got results through from the hospital and was uncooperative, when this was challenged, it turned out the letter was in my file and she told me I needed to call at 8am or 1pm, which I had done today and was on hold for 20 minutes both times before giving up. I am seriously thinking of changing surgery. The medical staff here are amazing it’s just the functionality of the appointment system really needs attention, and the approachability of some reception staff needs some focus.

    Can never get a face to face appointment, you can never see your doctor. Having lots of issues with prescriptions and they never help, just tell you to call 111

    I’ve been a patient at Chigwell Medical Centre since 1980 under various doctors and never had reason to complain. Over the past 5 years the practice has radically deteriorated. Getting through on the phone is nigh on impossible and if successful you can never get a face to face appointment. How can a diagnosis for some ailments be accurately made by phone. Earlier this year I had an ear problem with 3 on line consultations each prescribing medication that proved useless. When I finally got a face to face appointment I expressed my frustration to the doctor concerned who replied that the NHS is on its knees! I have friends who are patients at other local surgeries who receive a far better service so what is going on at Chigwell Medical Centre- why can’t they offer the same standard of service? Is it because doctors no longer hold surgeries at the practice but choose to work on line?

    After following instructions of when to contact for any type of appointment, I was told eventually to call back the following day at 8 am. A total of some 2 hours have been spent waiting to get through and the website links do not work. The receptionist asked why I needed an appointment - sudden weight loss - and still could not offer any format of appointment for any future date. This is my 1st time requesting an appointment since Covid started and only contact when absolutely necessary. So do we wait until we are dying to call the emergency services and burden them?

    We will be moving to this area soon, and we are reading the reviews of various practices in the area. The website is full of broken links so you are unable to make informed decisions as to whether you want to register with the practice.

    I have recently contacted Chigwell Medical Centre a number of times and although the initial doctors appointments are via phone, the consultation provided by the doctors is no different than face to face. The reception staff, nurses, doctors and other medical professionals are Chigwell Medical Centre are all very helpful and offer highest quality of care of me and my elderly parents.

    Poor experience, four hour windows for telephone appointments, which then didn’t happen is unacceptable. I then try to rebook an appointment for this to be pushed out another two weeks to another four hour window, how can I guarantee being in a private place to take a medical call two weeks in advance. Is this really the best they can do?
