After having X-rays in Jan I couldn’t get blood tests till feb and now I’ve received a letter to make an appointment to see gp I can’t get one even though I ring every day I’m told it’s emergencies only and to ring back tomorrow it wouldn’t be so bad if I wasn’t in so much pain

  2. Review titled Humanity.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited Rosebury pharmacy to collect prescriptions for my partner with my 6 year old, had a little bit of a wait and my 6 year old needed to use the toilet. Went to use the toilets in the surgery whilst we waited and got barked at by the receptionist, apparently because we're not registered with the practice my child was denied use of the toilet. What had happened to people!! What happened to decent humanity and just being a genuine human being, absolutely disgusted......6 years old!!!! I used to be a patient here and I'm so glad that I'm not longer. Would they have refused and elderly person or disabled??? Appalled.

Dear NHS Site User, Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us via the site. I would like to apologise to you and your six year old as we have quite clearly got this very wrong. We introduced some restrictions during the pandemic and also because some people had started to use the toilets to take drugs. Clearly neither of these are at all relevant in this case. We have issued some revised guidance to our team today to ensure that we don’t get this wrong for anyone else. Again I would like to apologise to you and your six year old, Paul Hanlon (Business Manager)

Dear Ms Bradley, Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us on our NHS page. On your individual issue I have asked our team to contact you to organise an appointment. More broadly we are very sorry that patients are finding it hard to get appointments at the moment. For a variety of reasons we are seeing a huge demand for appointments and despite us increasing the amount of appointments that we offer and working with our Primary Care Network to offer evening and weekend appointments that is sometimes greater than the supply. I would be very happy to discuss this and the plans that we have to address it with you further on the phone should that be helpful and can be contacted on 01509 615271 should you wish to do that. Yours sincerely, Paul Hanlon (Business Manager)

  4. Review titled Awful

Phoned at 8am, and was in a queue for 20minutes. I proceeded to request to be phoned back when my spot was available, that took 17 minutes. When I got the phonecall, I stated that all I needed was to speak to the doctor about my prescription as I am nearly out. I was told to ring back another morning as they were only on emergency appointments due to just giving out the last appointment.

Dear NHS Site User, Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback through our NHS page. We are sorry that you have had trouble trying to get an appointment. As with all surgeries we are seeing a huge demand for appointments at the moment and despite offering an increased amount of slots we know that it can be hard for patients, especially on a Monday morning. I would be very happy to talk to you about the things that we are doing to try and make the system better and listen to any ideas that you might have as well as helping with your specific problem and can be contacted on 01509 615271 should you wish to do that. Your sincerely, Paul Hanlon (Business Manager)

  5. Review titled Very good practice given the current climate in the NHS

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I dreaded calling the GP because of all the stories I hear. However, I was in a position where I needed to. The first thing that was helpful was that even though the phone queue was long, your position would be held and reception would call you back. Next I was given a call back by a GP who was helpful and prescribed antibiotics over the phone. Ideally, it would have been good to have a time frame in which they would call but this was not possible. This made it difficult when trying to work and I was not unwell enough to be off sick. I needed a second appointment but when I rang at 8am on a Friday there were no appointments which was a concern. However, I went through to reception anyway and explained what the problem was and they made me an appointment on the Saturday morning with a nurse practitioner which I was very happy with because they are able to prescribe. On Saturday morning I had a call from a GP who said she was calling to see if she could help me over the phone instead. She listened to everything and prescribed what was needed. Clear advice was given for if symptoms did not improve. I have heard people complaining that they can't get to see a GP and that reception staff are difficult/rude. My experience of this surgery is that the reception staff were polite and helpful. I didn't need to see the GP, the phone call was enough. I know that had I needed to physically see one, I would have been given a face-to-face appointment. Personally, a phone appointment is much easier than attending the surgery. I'm sure not all surgeries are great but I think Charnwood Medical Group are doing well given the current climate in the NHS.
