  1. Review titled Not good.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Denise Morris - Posted on 20 January 2024

This happened yesterday, 19th Jan, 2024. I phoned at approx 12.15pm. This 8.00 nonsense should be abolished. I explained my symptoms. I'd hardly finished my sentence before the receptionist said "phone 111" They cannot just keep telling people to do this and get patients back in. I've sometimes had to go in to get a sample bottle for my husband. There's not a soul in there. I have been a patient here for forty years when it was a good doctors. Not much longer though.

  2. Review titled Abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

Frustrated doesn’t come close to my experiences here! Reception staff are either poorly trained or frankly incompetent! When calling for appointments for my mental health, I was told there were no appointments available and to call 111. 111 sent me to A&E who were gobsmacked that the GP hadn’t seen me. They spoke to me and prescribed tablets but were crystal clear I needed to see my GP the following day without fail. I rang bang on 8am (to the second) and got through at 8:07 to be told all appointments had gone. I was offered one at another Health clinic (they have done this before and it serves little purpose) When I pointed out that under section 16.5 of Patient Online services, I should be able to book an appt online, I was told this wouldn’t be available fora few months…something I was told a few months ago. Covid was cited as the reason for this, but after a morning spent in A&E, they don’t seem to use Covid as an excuse…so why should the surgery? I was then told to go to the surgery at 1:55 and magically have an appointment. Why do we have to do this dance for an appointment, one wonders?

  3. Review titled How do you get an appointment !!!!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Philomena Barlow - Posted on 12 April 2023

This is my second attempt to get through on the phone to "try" to make a face to face appointment. I phoned at precisely 8am, it is now 8.40am and the phone is constantly engaged, I am not even able to join a waiting list which seems to not actually exist anymore. So my question is how on earth am I supposed to get a doctors appointment at my surgery. I feel very despondent.

  4. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been registered at this Practice for just over 5 years. The service from the Staff and GPS have been really good. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Sometimes it is difficult to get an appointment but I have have never waited longer than 2 weeks. I was offered an appointment with the clinical pharmacist (lovely young gentleman) he helped me with my prescription and also referred me and there was no need to speak to GP. Continue the good work.

  5. Review titled Awful GP surgery Rude and incompetent staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 May 2022

This surgery is the worst surgery I have ever experienced in being in to contact to. I had a over phone appointment with the GP who called my which I answered straight away and as soon as I did the gp put the phone down. I had been waiting for this appointment for weeks on end as I have a something effecting me which I was told I can only get sorted through the gp. I called back and the awful rude receptionist answered and said because I apparently didn’t answer the phone I need to wait a whole week to call and try book an appointment all over again which are hard to receive in the first place. The reception was so rude and condescending and acted like her dad owns the place. Honestly on the few occasions I have physically gone to the surgery they just stand around chatting. Honestly awful service I am not one to complain normally but it is so frustrating they have no compassion at all it’s because of gp surgery’s like this there is a rise in 999 calls as they cut the phone off and don’t give appointments leading to people who need emergency 999 treatment to having to wait hours for ambulance as they having to do the GPS job for them. This gp surgery really needs some training in communication and that awful receptionist needs to learn some manners and adopt a way of talking appropriately over the phone. The worst thing is I myself work in the NHS as a paramedic so I know how all this works in a gp and there’s great ones out there but this gp clearly does not come close to that list. Awful disgusting service I am really disappointed.

  6. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2022

Never able to get an appointment (face to face or call) and if you do have a call booked the Dr doesn't always call. Reception staff tell you to try nhs111, nhs111 tell you to go to your GP. How are you meant to access health care when you need it. The whole system is a shambles and surgeries are still hiding behind COVID as an excuse not to see patients. There's no point changing practice as it's the same at most surgeries - the good ones aren't taking new patients on.

Dear Patient I can appreciate your frustration. Our phone lines have been busy. At peak times we now have the option for pre-bookable telephone appointments. We have a number of patient appointments available every day. We also have appointments available with our Clinical Pharmacist for minor illness conditions. If patients would like an appointment in advance you can pre book up to 4weeks. I understand for some doctors this is a 4week wait which is longer than we would like and I continually monitor this. I will contact you directly to see if there is anything I can help with. Kind Regards P Smith Assistant Manager

  7. Review titled Excellent Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Miss Lesley Estwick - Posted on 27 May 2022

Everytime, i ring or need to go into the surgery, be it for myself or my disabled daughter, im always met with smiles and a genuine interest of how we are. I popped in today to simply drop a form, on behalf of my daughter, all of the staff are always very polite and welcoming, i would recommend this surgery to everyone. We have been fortunate enough as a family to be under this practice for over 20 years. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. They generally care about all their patients.
