    I needed support with my Dad, - I live 150 miles away and was struggling get medical advice and care support. The receptionist took all of the relevant details and offered to speak to the Dr to see what she could do. Within 10 minutes she had rang me back to let me know the outcome of her discussions. In the mean time the Dr had turned up at the house. He gave my dad a thorough check and a prescription. This is amazing service and not something I was expecting. Would thoroughly recommend this GP surgery and its understanding and compassionate staff.

    Received quite an abrupt response to my call - my parents who both have alzheimer's wouldn't know to look at a notice on the surgery door regarding flu jabs. Not even a courtesy "goodbye" at end of call! Not what you expect from the role of receptionist.

    I am new to this practice and have just had to call the receptionist. What lovely and very helpful people there. She was lovely and polite and answered my question in full and also gave me other information. You read how rude some surgeries can be but Bulkington is super. So glad we moved to them. Just a thank you to the lovely receptionist.

    Since joining Bulkington Surgery 18 months ago, we have been very happy with the services provided by the practice. However I felt I needed to leave a review to share how extremely impressed with the service I received today when I called to make an appointment on behalf of my daughter. All appointments, except emergencies, were taken. Although it wasn’t a medical emergency - the receptionist went out of her way to ensure my daughter was able to make contact with a doctor and solve the medical issue she had . It was so refreshing to deal with a cheerful person, who cares about her job and is willing to go the extra mile. If you move to the village we would highly recommend Bulkington Surgery.

    I have been trying to get an appointment for almost a week. Finally got through this morning. Having had Covid 6 weeks ago and still feeling very unwell I wanted to see someone. I was told a Dr would call me. When they did I felt the Dr wasn’t listening and quite frankly couldn’t care less. All I was offered was some anti sickness tablets, no appointment. Without a face to face appointment how can they see how poorly you are! Will be changing my GP

    As others have stated it’s almost impossible to get an appointment as after waiting in the queue I tend to get cut off, my record is waiting 35 minutes to get cut off then another 15 minutes before getting cut off again. Receptionists aren’t understanding and don’t tend to allow you to talk without presuming they know the issue and talking over you. Communication between the staff is terrible and I’ve found myself repeatedly having the same conversation with them every time I’ve rang. Even for a medication review you cannot expect to get the call at your allocated appointment time, you might even by like me and get a call 3 hours later which rings twice, is from a withheld number so you can’t ring back to be told it’s your fault you didn’t get your review as you didn’t answer the phone and you should be understanding of appointments “running over”. Leaving this surgery the minute I can get in elsewhere.

    We have never failed to get an appointment when needed although it does take an effort to get through on the phone, but one of the receptionists who answers the phone is exceptional and reassures that you will get the needed appointment and treatment in a timely manner. We have found the practice very helpful in gaining appointments with specialists and in reacting to changing circumstances or crisis. One problem has been when specialist prescriptions are required to go to other than the named pharmacy this can sometimes cause confusion with the prescription not reaching the required destination, but overall there is a good effort to reconcile any difficulties
