I expect this GP practice to not follow through on their work. They have just transitioned to eConsult and promise patients to reply within 24 hours, and after submitting my first eConsult, I received an automatic reply stating that they would respond by 6.30pm the following day (32.5 hours!). I have to constantly follow up with them as they have dropped the ball on enough follow-ups that I don't trust that they will follow-up, and I've now had a GP respond to me in what seemed like annoyance saying "You have so many problems" - I expressed that I didn't appreciate his saying that, and that I would like to not be dealing with these health issues either, and the reason I'm calling up regularly to have appointments is to resolve the issues so that my quality of life can improve as I am not getting the standard of care the NHS aims to provide; I would have appreciated an apology but did not get one, and instead he acknowledged that he was saying that because he only gets 10 minutes per patient on the phone.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on our new appointment system on day 2. It appears that the wording of the econsult tool needs review thank you for pointing this out. From your response it appears that you have had a response to your request within 24 hours. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with this response and as there is always room for improvement please could you contact the practice manager to discuss further. Based on our patient feedback we have changed our appointment system to ensure that all requests are dealt with within 48 hours or less by our clinicians. Based on the nature of the request, those with the greatest need are prioritised as quickly as possible without long telephone waits. Thank you for your understanding at this busy time.

I received a reply from an eConsult form to book an appointment using a link. I clicked the link and it said no appointments are available, and to check back in a few hours and *maybe* there will be appointments available (emphasis mine). This is a terrible patient experience and is regressive because people without time (e.g. working single parents) will not be able to repeatedly check a website every few hours with hopes that an appointment will open. Why not wait until you know you have appointments available to send the link? Or set up an appointment without checking with me on timing, and then give me a link for rescheduling if need be. These two would both be better approaches to the current one.

Thank you very much for your feedback- it is day 2 of our new appointment system, and we apologise for the difficulties you have experienced. We have changed our appointment system to ensure that all requests are dealt with within 48 hours or less ,by our clinicians. Based on the nature of the request, those with the greatest need are prioritised as quickly as possible. We send text appointment links to allow our patients to book appointments at the most convenient time to them. Thank you for alerting us to this mismatch and we will be reviewing our text messaging software as a priority to ensure that this does not happen again. Today I took my son for an appointment and we both met the Doctor for the first time. From the initial phone conversation he was very warm and attentive to the needs of my son. When advised to bring him in for a further face to face assessment, he built a sense of trust immediately with my son. He understood my concerns and gave his honest opinion on how to manage my son’s health. His warmth and friendly manner instantly built a positive rapport.

Receptionist wasvery efficient and friendly taking my cal.l Excellent service. Call answered in seconds and GP call back followed by prescribed medication was amazing.

Had a rare side effect to medication today. I was standing in the corridor and the doctor called me on the phone and didn’t want to see me in person. Told me to go to the hospital with no compassion or human touch. After going to A&E they said if my GP had spoke to me it could’ve saved us both some time.
