    Hello, On 19/3/2024, I had an appointment at 4:10pm, arranged at 9am that morning. It is currently 5:30pm and I still have not been asked to come in for my appointment. I don't think being ~1.5 hours (or more) late for an appointment slot is really acceptable. If the slot was going to be so much later than agreed, the reception should have called me to rearrange, or advised me to arrive later. This would be done in any other area in business - there should be no reason why the medical industry is unable to do this.

    I went in to hand a hospital letter in for my partner who had just had surgery. There is a certain receptionist who thinks it's ok to ignore patients waiting, slam the shutter down to make a 'private call' for everyone still to hear. Surely outbound calls should be made whilst there is not a queue of people out of the door. I have never ever met a person with so much attitude in such a critical job role. The online system is never available online so cannot request a sick note. It's such a shame that the receptionists make the doctors surgery such a negative place to be.

    The appointment booking system has no free slots in the weeks ahead. Attempting to ring to book one returns the message that there are not free slots and then ends. I am looking to deregister with this practice as they shouldn't get money from the government for having me as a patient if they provide no service.

    Blood test have been taken to find out whats wrong but the doc answer about results will be after month esspecialy results showed ad abnormal but whats wrong they will tell you after month,so you need live in a stress all month without knowing whats going on:(

    I have been into the centre yesterday and today to book an appointment only to be told there are no doctors available they have all phoned in with sick,the receptionist didn't even know when there would be any doctors returning to work.

    I have used this practice from the very beginning and prior to Covid it was five star all day long in fact 5 star plus. Unfortunately since Covid we are now looking at a 2 star practice. Far too many mistakes made, appointments booked and when you turn up there is no record. It’s such a shame that a once great practice has declined so much.

    I have been a member of this practice since its inception and and have had excellent treatment over the years. I have always found the staff in all functions within the practice to be helpful and friendly and the my medical treatment has been excellent. Thank you to everyone at Birchwood who has who helped me over the years and right up to the present day.

    To be able to get an appointment in this surgery, you have more chance seeing a shooting star!! I couldn't get an appointment for 3 weeks to be able to get a sick note for work. Whenever you ring for an appointment, you get made to feel like your in the wrong for ringing, that you should have used the econsult service, but that is always switched off within 5 mins of opening. I can not get seen by this practice, no matter how hard I try....I'm still trying to get seen and now there is multiple things I need an appointment for...but you can only do one thing at a time! You also get told that before coming to see a gp, you should either self diagnose, see a pharmacist or go to A&E!!

    Every service I have used in Birchwood Medical Practice has been excellent. I love the econsult service - saves waiting on the phone. Even phone calls are answered quite fast and are friendly and helpful. Every appointment has been superb. I have seen friendly, helpful, knowledgable people from every discipline. It makes no difference if it's an urgent appointment or routine. Tests and check-ups are followed up. Referrals are made promptly. I believe that good use of the tech has made a big difference to efficiency, as well as well-educated and motivated staff. My only complaint is that no use is made of email to communicate with patients. Apart from econsult - the interaction is all by text, phone or in person. I'd like to see use of email and also video consultations introduced.

    I had a foot check up with the diabetic nurse from Birchwood surgery,it was on time.She was a wonderful ,kind person. Very nice experience.
