  1. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Last week I had occasion to phone the surgery at 8am as I was having a health issue. I was 7th in the queue and duly phoned back at 8.15 and given an appointment with Dr. for 9am. My medication was adjusted and blood tests ordered for a few days later. The day after the blood test I was phoned by Dr. to further adjust my medication. I having nothing but the highest praise for the care and attention I received. Please give my thanks to Dr. for her care and attention.

  3. Review titled ***** Star Receptionist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I rung Birchington Medical Centre just after 9 a.m. this morning with a query and spoke to a very kind, understanding, efficient and friendly young lady. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. I did ring back twice to ask but there was a long queue of callers. She promised to ring me back after 10 but in fact rung me at 9.45 a.m. having spoken to colleagues and reassured me by confirming information regarding an upcoming appointment. Thank you very much young lady, I hope Birchington Medical Centre know how fortunate they, and their patients, are to have you.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciated the efficiency and care provided by GP and young lady I saw, plus reception ladies recently. Your kindness really does make a difference to, not only me I'm sure, but all your patients. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you from me. x

  5. Review titled From the Average to the Sublime

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’m not one for visiting the surgery at the drop of a hat, (far from it), but when I do, I’m long enough in the tooth to know when I’m being virtually ignored or being Listened to. In the space of a week I experienced both attitudes from two different clinicians. Fortunately my 2nd Dr was more than positive and I could not wish for more interested attentive service. So a big Thank you to him and I can only hope I get him or someone of his ilk again.

  6. Review titled Excellent Patient Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a Cardiology review today, Monday 20/1/25 and I'm expressing my sincere thanks to the specialist that saw me. She was very very thorough and explained everything which was very reassuring putting me at ease. Beyond any doubt the specialist is a credit to not only Birchington Medical Centre but to the NHS as a whole. Thank you.

  9. Review titled Not fit for Purpose

Rated 1 star out of 5

Yet again Birchington Medical Centre has failed. My husband requested a repeat prescription via Patient Access as usual. After the10th working day (this Friday) nothing had been received at the pharmacy. After checking Patient Access the request had been refused! This medication has been a repeat for some years and is life saving. No notification was received that it had been refused. On visiting Surgery's reception he was told that the prescription team were new?? So what. An urgent prescription is to be sent this Friday afternoon - the pharmacy is closed on Saturdays and my husband will be out of tablets Sunday evening. The pharmacy, as usual, has been helpful and is to chase the surgery Friday afternoon, so let's hope my husband gets his medication Monday. He is also waiting for the results and way forward following a scan 2 weeks ago. The results were sent to the Surgery immediately after the scan. He was informed by a receptionist this Friday exactly 2 weeks later that they had recieved the results but "they are busy and to ring back at midday to get an appointment to see a Doctor next week" he rang at midday all appointments were gone and when trying to get through to a receptionist was number 28 in the queue. He never got through. So the NHS have paid £120 for a scan and my husband is still waiting for the results 2 weeks later. What is going to happen when 1600 houses and approximtely 3200 additional people arrive in Birchington?

  10. Review titled Thanks to the Receptionists

Rated 4 stars out of 5

A diamond is one of the Receptionists at Birchington medical centre and I had the pleasure of meeting her again today to discuss my proposed Angiogram. I have found her very professional and knows how to deal with things in the right way to my satisfaction and feeling of reassurance. All the receptionists have been nice to deal with over the years and I thank them all.
