Was very impressed with my recent appointment at Beacon Medical. The GP was efficient, polite and very thorough. He took the time to explain everything clearly which I greatly appreciated. Further referral for scans were done quickly and I received an appointment within 48 hours.

Whilst the lady in the practice was very helpful in helping me access the online self referral, sadly that is when anything positivity ends. I received a call regarding my concern and was wrongly informed by the person who called me…. I was told to go to Boots or Day Lewis where, if necessary, a pharmacist who was able to prescribe meds if necessary, would do so. The receptionist in Boots ( Station Road ) was so rude to me ( I was told by your bot that I was not able to use the word that starts with a d and rhymes with ram - how silly ) that even another customer raised her eyebrows at me so I took myself to Day Lewis. The pharmacist was not able to prescribe but did look and suggested a treatment for my very sore ( week long of suffering ) mosquito bites but also said ( which is why I feel I was wrongly informed ) that he’d not have been able to prescribe antibiotics because ‘mosquito bites from any country other than the United Kingdom need to be assessed by a GP and you’ve been wrongly told that had I been a prescribing pharmacist that I’d have done so’ Therefore, I believe that in this occasion I was not helped

After you have gone through the checking in with a receptionist and explained the problem I've had a good response. I was called by a member of the staff and asked to go for a consultation with her. I was checked over and I still had an infection in my lungs. I was told to use my rescue pack and she prescribed a new pack.

I am due to have some tricky surgery privately in Southampton Spire Hospital on 11th April and was asked to obtain full bloods and an ECG within one week. Despite being a really busy surgery, they pulled out all the stops to get me in for tests within 3 days and turn around the full results for my surgeon in less than 48 hours. I want say a massive thank you to my GP . My journey has been arduous over the past 12 months but my GP has been there every step of the way, listening to my concerns and making proactive contact with 3 specialist area in order to get a diagnosis. It was unfortunate that I have needed to self fund the parathyroidectomy and Thyroid lobectomy but I am really hopeful that this will make a significant difference to my poor health and enable me to keep working until retirement. Thank you

Both myself and my son have been caught out recently when logging online to re-order prescriptions . We both found that our NHS prescriptions were paused pending an annual review . The issue , is that we did not receive any notification of this . This meant we were both late in obtaining our prescription by the time we completed the review process and re-instating our prescription. Advance notice would have prevented our last minute rush particularly with my son being adult autistic and not coping well with this type of occurrence. Thankyou . Kind regards .

Got an appointment through direct invitation for covid jab. Options for availability and large car park which made access really easy. Large practice with plenty of space and a quick check in at entrance.

I have had two experiences over the last 18 months where the doctors at Beacon have been so kind and caring. I have had negative experiences before at a different practice but I am completely happy with Beacon. My most recent experience was with a registrar. He listened to me, reassured me and referred me immediately. He then very quickly booked in a follow up appointment. I feel like I am being looked after properly which is completely different to my previous practice. Thank you, Beacon.

Took my wife for Blood tests. She is quite poorly. I had got the day wrong. The staff pulled out all the stops and fitted my wife in to save her from turning out again. Excellent service.

My appointment at Beacon medical practice was as you would expect, prompt and easy to confirm attendance, staff were very helpful and explained my options of medication, I left with an option to communicate with the member of staff post visit. Overall a good outcome for myself.
