This surgery is absolutely dreadful. It’s virtually impossible to get through to this surgery as they take for ever to answer the phone. If you phone one of their other surgeries (that I’m not allowed to mention) they answer immediately!

Developed widespread oedema of the face, neck, both arms & legs while on holiday; on my return, the quick intervention by my GP to refer me to A&E Ambulatory Care unit, saved my life; she made the quick decision due to the worsening general body swelling. This was followed by series of tests and investigations during my admission. A diagnosis was made that stopped the swelling; l want to thank my GP for her quick intervention and insistence for me to go to A&E right away.

This practice consortium makes several claims on its website that are in test, completely false. It claims it has a "Fast registration process for new eligible patients". In reality, it took me over a month to be registered because their Carpenders Park Branch lost my registration forms with personal information on it. It explicitly says on their website to use the "Patient Access" online platform to book appointments to avoid waiting on hold. In reality... And When you ask for the online access form, they will refuse to give it. when you do get it, it doesn't matter. Their online booking system is turned off and asks you to call in instead. If I stayed with this practice, I could probably pick out several things. But I cannot be bothered with this terrible practice anymore. Rather, leave before it gets worse. Would not recommend joining.

It is helpful to receive your feedback, and I apologise that you have had a negative experience of Attenborough Surgery. Our receptionists can register patients on the same day, and I am sorry that you say our branch surgery lost your paperwork, as we have robust processes in place for registrations. With regards to booking appointments online, once you have provided the correct identification you should be provided with login details to allow you access to booking appointments online. We also offer an online consultation service. The link is available on our website. The receptionists will normally process and contact the patient back on the same working day. I am keen to discuss the feedback you have given, to enable me to investigate further and address any issues for the future. Every time I have visited this particular surgery, I leave feeling unwelcome and dismissed. There are two particular receptionists that do not even respond when you say ‘hello’, ‘goodbye’ or ‘thanks’. It’s as if they hate their job and want to discourage patients. Just ignorant and rude. It’s a real shame because I am sure many elderly patients, who are perhaps lonely and isolated would love a warmer reception than the one offered there. Also those who are worried, scared etc., get that on arrival. Unacceptable. I know I certainly have started to feel like I’ll avoid it if I can, despite it being most convenient surgery to me. There have been times when I’ve considered pointing out their behaviour but chose to not allow them to get the satisfaction I’m sure they feel from exercising their ignorance. I’m not expecting them to be ‘friendly’ but at least professional and courteous. It’s a poor reflection on the surgery when the actual medical care from the medical staff cannot be faulted. I have never experienced it at Bushey or Watford.
