    Last week I was asked to ring today to make an appt one week from today as GP I wanted to speak to away this week. Tried many times throughout the day until eventually got through at 4pm. Was then told that all appointments in the loop for next week had gone so would have to ring tomorrow. When I explained I had tried many times to get through on the phone I was told to call into the surgery in the morning which is totally impractical for me. I asked if the apps in the loop had gone could I make one for after this, I was told no I would have to ring tomorrow. Therefore all the people like me who have been unable to make an appointment today because all those in the loop had gone will be ringing again tomorrow whereas if we had been given an appointment we wouldn't be ringing again. No wonder you can't get through on the phone they are just making extra work for themselves. Totally inefficient way of working.

    I appreciate that a lot of people feel that they can’t see a doctor and calling at 8.30 may not be possible. The 8.30 call if doable is the best way of getting an appointment on the day, yes you have to be persistent. However if that’s not possible, call later and again you should be offered an appointment, granted it maybe in a weeks time. The staff are friendly and kind, so please don’t suffer you can see a doctor.
