    Good Morning, I used System online this morning and firstly looked at the boxes for booking an apointment. I selected a range of dates but none were available. Eventually I realised that these boxes do not function and the online triage form must be completed. May I suggest that this box be removed as clearly it does not function and wastes patients time and the receptionist when a patient then make a phone call instead. I did point this out to the receptionist this morning and she advised me to make a complaint. I chose not to make a complaint because this can be resolved using common sense and basic logic.     Dear Russell Thank you for your feedback. I know the section that you are referring to which is on systemone online and unfortunately we can't remove it as it's a national computer set up. We appreciate your frustration that it is not made clear that we can't offer appointments that way. System one online is the place where patients can securely order prescriptions, and have to log into with passwords. The reason that we have no appointments showing is that we operate a total triage system here. This means that 100% of appointment requests are filtered through by one of the Doctors, and they will advise who the best person is to manage the symptoms, and in what timescale. They may for example offer a physio, mental health professional or specialise Nurse. They may also direct someone to a Pharmacy (as they do offer antibiotics now) or to the walk in centre for things that need an x-ray. If patients were to book online without being triaged, there is a risk that they may be waiting longer than needed, and then end up with the wrong professional for example waiting weeks for something that sounds like an emergency to the GP or for something that could have been dealt with sooner by a different professional. Thank for the feedback however, we shall continue to raise this with the software provider and we do appreciate it is not ideal for this to be visible when you log on.     Filled in online form for my elderly father. Telephone call very quickly and all in from submitting the form he had been seen by a GP Registrar within an hour. Not many surgeries provide such a service. This is not an isolated incident. The service is always timely and excellent - I'm just not as efficient in leaving reviews every time! When Dad was seen the Dr was, as always, excellent and very thorough. Thank you to all at Aire Valley Surgery. I did try to specifically name the GP but the review system wouldn't allow it!!

    I had cause for a medical concern so I completed the online reception desk questionnaire, so simple to do this. I submitted it at 08-10 on the 3 Jan 2025 and had a call back by 08-20 inviting me for an appointment at -09-50 which I gladly accepted. I was met with the usual cheery welcome we always receive from all the staff at our practice. I had a long chat with Dr and further investigations are now organised. Thank you so much for your very prompt response

    I tried to contact the surgery and found it very frustrating that whilst we are encouraged to use the Online Reception service, this can only be done between the hours of 8am and 4pm weekdays. Why? It's not always convenient to remember to send messages then. Why can routine messages not be sent 24 hours, then responded to when the surgery re-opens?

    Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you found the online service to be frustrating. GP surgeries in the NHS are only open on week days. Our online Receptionist is an enhanced extension of our Reception team and therefore can only be staffed in hours too. As such any messages received outside of our working times could not be processed. There would be two main risks here to receiving messages whilst the service is not staffed: a) Patients waiting for a response to something which may be more urgent than a patient is aware of. Sometimes what sounds routine to a patient is really much more urgent and sometimes very important to not wait for. When the service was previously open outside the core hours, staff would come in to read unsafe requests that should not have been submitted this way and should not have waited. i.e. a Friday night: I've run out of medication or I have chest pain - which were then not read until Monday. Once the request had been passed to the surgery those patients then believed they were being dealt with. That is not safe out of core hours as they were not even being read yet. Those patients should have gone elsewhere and not waited. b) A backlog of requests each morning. When the service was previously open outside the core hours, staff would come in every day to many many existing requests to read - both admin and medical. This would cause a significant delay in the team being able to get to process the same day urgent problems. During weekdays, the service closes at 4pm every day to enable all requests to be reviewed (and any urgent patients called in) before close. Reception is however open for phone calls up to 6pm, and at the Reception desks until 6:30pm There are a variety of other NHS services that may be able to assist when the GP is closed - NHS 111, local Pharmacies the out of hours GP service, the extended hours services at the Guiseley hub and the Urgent Treatment Centre and we still receive patient letters in the post and through the door too. We really do appreciate you sharing this feedback and shall take it on board, but our current decision to close the online service outside of core hours is for patient safety reasons.     Just a note to thank the reception staff today at Rawdon Surgery (21st October 2024) for the last minute appointment to sort out my foot ... a key part of my job teaching exercise! Good treatment by the Silver Lane GP on duty this afternoon means I can now crack on. Thanks again.

    Needed an urgent appointment for elderly friend. Appointment within 30 minutes of on line submission. Everyone was extremely kind and polite. My friend was reassured and treated within an hour.

    Phoned reception at 8am to see if I could get an appointment, after talking to the receptionist I was trying to talk myself not going in whilst she convinced me that I needed an appointment. Saw the doctor within 5 minutes of my appointment time. He did a thorough check and explained I needed to go to a&e immediately . I went straight there and was having emergency surgery that evening. I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the service and care I received on Monday 30th Sept . I have been a patient of this surgery for over 26 years and have always found them very helpful but this time went over and above x

    I used my online reception form to contact surgery admin at yeadon to speak to a Dr about an ongoing problem, within minutes a lady rang me to say a Dr would ring me that morning, this was on Friday 30 aug 2024 and a Dr rang me within an hour prescribed me a medication. So happy with the speedy response from all the staff and Dr

    I’ve needed more than one appointment over the last few weeks due to pain. Saw a GP the same day and within two hours. Diagnosis and treatment excellent from the doctor. A far better service than we’re led to believe.

    I was sent a text message this morning alerting me to Community Pharmacists. As follows Dear Patient Community pharmacists can supply prescription-only medicines, (including antibiotics) and where clinically appropriate treat common health conditions without a visit to a GP. These conditions are: Sinusitis Sore throat Earache Infected insect bite Impetigo (skin infection) Shingles Uncomplicated urinary tract infections - women We wish to make all patients aware that when contacting Aire Valley Surgery with any of these conditions, you may be re-directed to the Pharmacy instead, so may prefer to save time in future by contacting the Pharmacy first. Aire Valley Surgery I recently called into Boots in Guiseley and was told that they do not consult with individuals over the age of 65. I don’t know if this is the case for independent pharmacies as well but I thought I’d draw it to your attention.

Yes there are lots of different criteria including age groups for the different conditions and the Pharmacy can advise accordingly and will direct patients back to the Surgery if they can't assist.
