    Recently had worries and anxiety attacks since being diagnosed with cancer, messaged through the app and received a call with 24hrs and an appointment. We are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful and caring surgery, you have some amazing doctor who deserve recognition for all their hard work.

    Very good, caring and understanding Dr - feel very confident in my GP surgery. I feel the GP helped me and mad me feel safe and important- I'm still getting there but on the mend.

    The care and compassion shown by this surgery and its staff is second to none. I have long term health problems and I have been listened too, and afforded care and compassion by the principle GP and her partners. The care and empathy shown towards me has been superb, and whilst I understand there is a shortage of GPs and staff, I have only every been treated like a human being and not a number. I can only thank you and praise the work you all do. You are appreciated and in difficult circumstances always deliver the best care to me. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

    Unable to speak to anyone it’s Friday and recorded message after being open for 10 minutes saying no appointments left and to call back Monday I’m in pain and this doctors surgery doesn’t care How can all appointments be gone in ten minutes seeing as no one answers the phone !

    Dear Miss Jeffries I am disappointed that you have felt the need to label our Practice in this way and I am sorry that you were unable to get an appointment last Friday. I can confirm that we found ourselves in exceptional circumstances on that particular day with 3 GPs having to be absent as they were ill, along with other staff who were on sick leave. You'll appreciate that we cannot plan ahead for staff who become ill and therefore cannot report for work and we therefore had a very limited number of free appointments available on the day, with only scope for emergencies. I am sure that our recorded message will have signposted you to alternative options. In all of the years I have been Practice Manager, I have never known such unprecedented circumstances of us being so very short staffed with GPs becoming ill at short notice, a situation that I cannot plan for and have no opportunity to put cover in place. As soon as we became aware of the issue, we posted a notification on our website, put a message on our phone lines regarding emergency appointments and posted on our Social Media pages in order to communicate the situation to patients. I appreciate it wasn't ideal on that day but we do have a GP out-of-hours service which can support our patients where this is necessary.     I’ve recently had reason to have communication with my GP practice. I would like to say how wonderful my GP practice at the Acorn surgery, Huntingdon is. I had a telephone consultation with a GP within 3 hours of me initially contacting the surgery. The doctor acted promptly and initiated investigative tests and from that first telephone consultation I had a face to face appointment within 3 days. The medical secretary has also been exemplary. The NHS and particularly GP practices are getting so many negative responses from the general public at the moment and I felt that I wanted to stand up and be counted and express my very positive views of my GP practice and indeed the whole of the NHS. Thank you to you all, you’re doing a great job in very difficult circumstances that we find ourselves in at the moment .

    Your Review: Over the past 20 years or so, your Surgery has provided my wife and I with great care, for which we thank you. Perhaps lesser acknowledged is the outstanding work that the Acorn Pharmacy undertake. Whilst their primary work of delivering prescriptions has always been exceptional, their friendly demeanour and support given by all their staff is a particular attribute. Most recently, your Surgery referred my wife and I to the Acorn Pharmacy for two appointments, and the treatment and care extended was way beyond the normal “call of duty”. From our examination to the telephone follow-up Pharmacy conducted the consultations totally committed to our on-going welfare. Importantly, the Pharmacy was fully aware of the appropriate medical background and situation ensuring that our wellbeing was their priority. May I ask you to convey to both your Surgery Staff and the Acorn Pharmacy our appreciation for the care and service extended to us over the years, but particularly for the recent appointments with the Pharmacy that were so expertly conducted. Our gratitude and thanks to all your Staff for meeting ever increasing demands. Stalwarts, all of you!
