I am sorry that you have been having difficulty in speaking with one of our GP's at the Practice? Unfortunately as there is very little information regarding your query and as you have chosen to remain anonymous I am unable to contact you to and rectify this issue for you. Should you wish to discuss your problem please contact the surgery and ask to speak with a member of the management team. Thank you for your feedback

  2. Review titled New telephone system

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by M Jevons - Posted on 30 September 2022

I have mostly dealt with nurse practitioner and have been very happy with my experience and treatment. The new system appears much improved with updates on position in queue - my recent call was a very quick turnaround - and if the queue is long there is now an option to reserve your place and get a callback when you are next in line so no more sitting and waiting on the phone. Very happy with the changes.

Dear M Jevons Thank you so much for you positive review. We have implemented a new telephone system and this seems to have been a success with the majority of our patients. We are very appreciative of any kind and positive comments that we get from our patients and are constantly trying to maintain a high level of service for our patients in extremely challenging times. Thank you again

  3. Review titled Fantastic Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Called at opening time on Monday morning, used automated service to be called back. I was called back within 15 minutes, spoke to reception who took my symptoms and said I should expect a call back. Nurse rang within 20 minutes and I was seen at 10am that morning. Super responsive and reliable practice. Never had any bother in all the years I have been with them.

Had a pain problem for about three months now got intouch with the doctors and had a telephone conversation with the physio and was given exercises to do which seemed to make thibgs worse so got back intouch with the surgery and was given another telephone call from the physio which was a pointless conversation at he told me that I would have to wait another week to be seen the pain is unbearable yet still cannot get a phonecall from a gp I feel as if it's pointless trying might be easier going to a&e there might be a waiting time but will get seen

Dear Patient I am extremely sorry to hear that you have not had a positive experience at Acklam and that your problem was not rectified as quickly as you had hoped it would be. Our First Contact Physio has a great deal of experience in this field and can provide patients with, not only exercises but pain medications, sicknotes if these are necessary and he can also refer patients to secondary care services should this be appropriate. The NHS has employed staff such as the FCP as patients do not always need to see a GP for such issues and usually these staff members as much more well versed in their speciality area. I am sure it can be very difficult when you are in pain but due to the patient demand we have to prioritise patients who have a greater need to be seen quickly with very serious illnesses and life threatening conditions, meaning some patients do need to wait. I would be happy for you to contact me and we can discuss your issues in person if you feel that would help. Kind regards Acklam Medical Centre

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback with regards to your recent consulations. I am very sorry that you feel this has not eased your problem or helped you in any way. I am sure if you would like to call the surgery and ask to be put on the Doctors list the Reception Team would be happy to help you with this. I would not suggest going to A&E with this issue as they are already extremely busy and you could have a substantial wait to be seen. As you have chosen to remain anonymous I am unable to call you and discuss this problem with you directly. Should you wish to speak with someone as your issue has not been resolved, please call and ask to speak with a memeber of the Management Team and they will be happy to help you. Thank you again for your feedback

  6. Review titled badly lacking

Rated 1 star out of 5

It would be easier to get an audience with the queen that to get to see a doctor at this practice. Irrespective of when you ring, there never is any appointments for that day and you have to ring the next day and then a telephone appointment only. when you ask if they can offer any advice as to what you can do as you would really like some help, there response is sorry the telephone appointment is only availability. The receptionists decide on what is the best course of action!!! As I was told today the doctors surgery is not for emergencies as that is what the emergency service is for and I questioned that is dependent on what a person deems as an emergency. I was also told there is a shortage of doctors due to the lack of money! And of course covid is to blame!

  7. Review titled Impossible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sheila - Posted on 14 July 2022

Impossible to contact. Impossible to get through, especially frustrating when it says on its own page "live, not busy" and then half an hour later "live, not too busy" all the while, I cannot get through. Its not an emergency, so I wouldn't want to ring 999 or 111 but it seems I cannot ever get through to speak to anyone, I just need an appt at my Dr's. What are we supposed to do? It's so frustrating and disappointing.
