When to call 119

You can call 119 if you have questions or need help with COVID-19 vaccinations, testing, NHS COVID Pass, and more.

Calls to 119 are free from mobiles and landlines. 119 provides support in 200 languages.

Lines are open:

  • Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 1pm

Lines are open on bank holidays.

Information:

If you need help from a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, use the free online 119 BSL interpreter service from SignVideo.

Help with testing

You can call 119 to:

  • get help reporting a positive or void lateral flow test result
  • get guidance on how to do tests
  • ask questions related to travel and testing
  • complain about a testing service or get advice about how to complain
Information:

You can no longer report a negative result to 119, unless you are going into hospital and need to provide evidence of a negative result.

Help with vaccination

Vaccination bookings

You can call 119 to:

  • book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, including booster vaccination appointments
  • cancel and rebook COVID-19 vaccination appointments

Help with an NHS COVID Pass

You can call 119 to:

  • ask questions about the NHS App or the online NHS COVID Pass service
  • get an NHS COVID Pass letter
