Third party services

Information:

If you need help with your referral appointments, visit our hospital and other appointments help page.

Organisations outside the NHS provide health services on behalf of your GP surgery, hospital and NHS Digital. These include services you can access through the NHS App. We call these third party (connected) services.

The local and national services available to you depend upon:

  • the organisations chosen by your GP surgery
  • the clinical commissioning group your surgery belongs to
  • those provided or chosen by NHS Digital

For those chosen by your GP surgery (local services), we show the names of organisations in the NHS App before you use their service. If you're still unsure who they are, ask your GP surgery.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) services

NHS COVID Pass

The NHS COVID Pass service (previously known as 'Share your COVID-19 status') lets you view and share your COVID Pass for places in England that have chosen to use this service and for travel abroad.

This is a new national service in the NHS App, and is provided by the Department of Health and Social Care.

If you have full access to the NHS App, you can view and share your COVID Pass for places in England that have chosen to use this service and for travel abroad.

If you do not have full access to the app, you can view and share your COVID Pass for places in England that have chosen to use this service.

We only support queries about how to access this service in the NHS App, not queries about the service itself.

For more information, visit our About the NHS COVID Pass service help page.

Check your COVID-19 vaccine record

The Check your COVID-19 vaccine record service lets you view your vaccination details, like the name and batch number, and report any side effects you have experienced.

This is a new national service in the NHS App, and is provided by NHS Digital.

We only support queries about how to access this service in the NHS App, not queries about the service itself.

For more information, visit our Check your COVID-19 vaccine record help page.

Personal health records

A personal health record stores information about your health and care online. It's managed by yourself, and health professionals can add information to it.

Personal health records are a new feature in the NHS App. We're testing with Patients Know Best Ltd, and a few GP surgeries and hospitals. We'll go live with more in 2020.

We only support queries about Patients Know Best relating to their services in the NHS App.

For more information, visit our personal health records help page.

Online consultations

In an online consultation, you can contact a GP or health professional over the internet. It saves you waiting for an appointment or going to the surgery.

We're testing with two online consultation providers, eConsult Health Ltd and Engage Health Systems.

We only support queries about eConsult Health Ltd and Engage Health Systems relating to their services in the NHS App.

For more information, visit our online consultations help page.
