During this Covid 19 crisis, you may wish to consider the following breathing exercises to improve your lung function.

Yoga has been practiced for more than a thousand years in India. It consists of exercise of different body parts. Breathing exercises are one of them. Yoga is considered to be a very good exercise for maintaining proper health and also has a profound effect on the lung function of an individual. It is claimed that yoga helps in prevention, control and rehabilitation of many respiratory diseases. Yoga breathing exercise increases compliance of lungs and thorax, airway resistance and strength of respiratory muscles.

In Sanskrit ‘Pran’ means ‘Breath’ and ‘Ayama’ means ‘control’ so it is called as Pranayama. Pranayama is the complete breathing exercise which is the part of yoga.

Internet Pharmacy

Internet Pharmacy

If you have received a leaflet in the post from an internet pharmacy company bearing the NHS logo, please note that you are under NO OBLIGATION TO RECEIVE YOUR NHS MEDICINES FROM THEM.

Some patients may mistakenly think that their local surgery is promoting their services. This is not the case.

The US experience of Internet Pharmacies is a stark reminder of possible dangers. Buying medications online is a risky business. According to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) , 97 percent of the more than 10,900 Internet pharmacies, or 10,573 online drug sellers, reviewed by the board were operating in conflict with pharmacy laws and practice standards.

Many online pharmacies are unregistered, so buying from them is potentially unsafe.Medication from an unregistered website could also be dangerous to your health because it might be out-of-date, diluted or fake.

As your local community pharmacy, we are proud to serve our community and having been doing so for 35 years. Please support your local pharmacy.

Electronic Prescription Service

This pharmacy offers the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you have nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving you time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long at the pharmacy as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
