THE LOCAL SOUTH SOUTHWARK GP FEDERATION

We (this practice) are a member of Improving Health Ltd or IHL as it is commonly known.  This is the GP Federation covering all of the South Southwark Practices, and we work with them for a lot of community and Population health management where practices group up and use their combined resource to better serve our patient community with a wider range of healthcare services.

IHL also run the Primary Care Extended Access Centre at the Lister Heath Centre - a number of our patients are directed to this venue each day where their GPs and ANPs deal with more routine or minor conditions.

Just a word on some recent staff changes that have taken place:

Dr Claire Thomas joined us in April 17 as a new Salaried GP and she is now settled in to work. She normally works Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursdays.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners.  Angela Illes has been with us for some months now but will be taking a sabbatical from Sep 17 to Jan 18 and we hope she is able to rejoin the team in the new year.

Alison Spence works Mon, Thurs & Fri and we now have some new ANPs coming in ad hoc to support us when the Rota requires it.

Admin wise we now have Dr Maliha Zaidi running the new Clinical Admin Hub supported by Mr Maz Zafar and Mr Ameer Abro.  Louise Baxter leaves for maternity leave on 1 Sep 17 and Hayley Syms took over in the Medical Secretary role in early August after Siobhan Curtis left the practice.

COMPLAINTS OR REVIEWS ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Please could i ask all patients that if thinking about or contemplating making a formal complaint or posting similar comments on the Review pages, to please first contact myself or Mrs Sue White (Patient Services Manager) as we would like to listen to your issues and feedback and try and help and assist you with your particular issue.

We have found through experience that sitting down and talking about the matter(s) in hand and looking at all possible outcomes lends to being able to find a suitable and satisfactory way to resolve most if not all issues.

We both v much welcome you making contact with us via phone, email or by speaking to a member of staff.

ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY (A&E) OVERLOAD

Please note that currently and for a few months now, all South London A&E Depts have been at maximum stretch and near overload inc those attending in person and via ambulance; our GPs will only refer to Kings College A&E where absolutely necessary and appropriate.

Please also be advised that the Lister Walk-in Centre is available for use by our patients as a stop gap between the times we are not open and should always be considered before thinking about A&E

We would appreciate your forebearance with this.
