    An elderly relative of mine regularly uses this pharmacy. Almost every single time we collect repeat prescriptions there is a drama about some medicines not being available, despite having been ordered in plenty of time. The GP has is often blamed, but the problem is more often at the pharmacy end. Locating orders seems to be based largely on thumbing through dishevelled piles of paper prescriptions, and on more than one occasion we have been sent away, only to find that the order had been there all along. Staff behind the counter almost always appear under pressure, which most respond to with kindness, but unfortunately not all.

    This used to be a very efficiently run pharmacy. This has changed dramatically in the past several months. There is always a backlog of prescriptions to be prepared and even a prescription submitted a week before will generally not be ready. The staff search for it, then they check their computer, then they find it, then they prepare it while you wait. This process is not only inefficient for the staff it involves long waiting times inside the shop. These days there is always a huge backlog and this has never been the case previously. I suggest they get the staff in on one Sunday, with the doors locked, and clear the backlog so that normal service can be resumed as soon as possible. The staff are ultra helpful but their system (or maybe the boss?) is letting them down.

    Williams has been my pharmacy of choice for many years. It has over the past few months descended into disorganised chaos with seemingly, no system(s) for tracking the progress of prescriptions with hard pressed staff rummaging under the counter viewing packet after packet until they find or, more often than not, don't find the item. Because of this I try to telephone to see if my prescription is ready and today 13 August it seems that they have resorted to taking the phone off the hook as it is still engaged and has been for a couple of hours despite 'callback' being implemented. This deterioration in key services from what once was a very well run unit is both dangerous and unacceptable.
