    We have lived on Westbury Park for just under 37yrs and have witnessed the usual evolution of life and specifically in this case the variance of chemist experience offered over time. We have seen most recently the failure of one of the largest brands, Lloyds. In my opinion their business strategy failed due to forgetting one thing, customer service. The Westbury Chemist did take time to take over and re establish control, which did frustrate some. However, personally I now feel that things have settled and the service offered takes me back to my youth where they will offer help, support and even order in anything specifically desired. The team seem knowledgable friendly and relaxed, creating a welcoming experience. Life is cyclic so I for one are enjoying the return of service.

    I went to the pharmacy to get the flu jab, I thought that the value of the vaccine would be normal as in other places, but to my surprise I had to pay £29.99, it is a real abuse of the price, I think someone should control this type of abuse, they charge what they want, I started to investigate on the internet, and the prices range from 8.99, to 16.99, I hope someone does something about this kind of theft that does not deserve to be called something else.

    I tried to contact this pharmacy to discuss my emergency prescription which needed to be ammended. They simply left me on hold for over 30 minutes whilst I was allegedly 'first in line ' I hung up. They simply do not answer their phone. If you want to speak to them you must attend their premises in person. I ended up going to another pharmacy to get my prescription.

    Pharmacist are so disorganised,no one knows what is going on around them.Prescriptions are being missing.On ‘you own me’items are never ready for collection and some things are missing.Waiting time 30 to 45 minutes.Being a customer of Westbury’s for last 10 years I have never seen this pharmacy in such mess!I am seriously thinking of changing Westbury’s for a different pharmacy in my area.The only good thing about Westbury’s is their staff at the front desk, which is always polite happy and helpful.

    I have tried three times calling Westbury pharmacy and spent 3 hours in total being put on hold to be told by a recording at the end that the call had to be ended. They Also did not answer my 5 emails regarding prescription. Do not use them.

    I’ve only been using this pharmacy since Nov 2022 but had problems collecting my husbands medication. Even though I wait for 4-5 days , after my GP has sent the prescription electronically directly to Westburys, I find most times they still have to place an order or only have part order of the requested medication so I have to go back again for collection. One occasion I went back three times to collect the requested medication, to be told twice over a two week period that they have to be ordered and the third time I went, they were unable to find my husbands prescription/requested order on their system so ended up buying it over the counter just to save the hassle as he is a pancreatic cancer patient and needed the nutritional protein drinks. They are quite busy too so each time you’re having to wait between 15-25min. This particular day, I thought I’d phone in to check if the prescription was ready for collection and was hanging on for 40 min, 16 of those I was apparently 1st in the queue but hung up in the end & decide to go in to check. It’s frustrating, as at times my husband has been really unwell, especially after chemo and I’ve been worried about leaving him on his own but have had no choice but to go in and collect. I did ask about their app on the ordering & delivery of prescription medication but was told by a shop assistance that they were having problems with it. It’s such a shame but I feel disappointed with the service at the moment and hope they are able to sort their system out so it’s a bit more reliable for their most vulnerable customers.

  8. Review titled Great practice Shame about the phone service

    I’ve been using Westburys for years and generally am very pleased with their service. However, recently I’ve had to contact their pharmacists by phone and this is where their service is very poor - regularly on hold for over 30 mins and twice for an hour at which point you are cut off. I wouldn’t recommend phoning them - even their shop didn’t answer. They really need to reconsider how they handle phone calls. I’m trying their app as I need some medication. No reply so far but it’s only been 40mins so I’ll hold off on any comments abt the app at this point. If you can shop in person I would recommend them - also they’re handy for vaccine shots.
