Well Pharmacy - Linthorpe Road Middlesbrough. Had an emergency prescription sent from Linthorpe surgery. This isn't my regular pharmacy. When I informed the person behind the counter of this, she said quite bluntly that I won't be on her system. I asked if she'd check, and using my name and dob she confirmed that my info was on there. I asked if my script had been sent over and rather than check, she informed me that it would be 24 hours before it could be issued - she didn't even know what the items were yet - when I asked why so long she just said "There's a backlog'. I then asked if the script could be returned to the spine so that it could be sent another pharmacy. She refused saying that she would need my NHS Number to do this. Too ill to argue, I walked back to the doctors who resent it to Boots in the Village. Don't use this pharmacy. Bad attitude from the person in question, terrible service and an unacceptable (24 hr) delay in issuing a couple of boxes of tablets. Topped off with the NHS number palaver. The two receptionists in the surgery had never heard of anything like it when I returned to get it sorted. Thanks to them for sorting it, and sending it to Boots I'll be emailing this to Well Head Office too, for what its worth. It seems they need to invest in additional training for their staff. Certainly one of them.

They often fail to deliver on time meaning a panic ensues wondering if hubby is going to be left with no meds. If you call to enquire, they simply don't answer. I've spent over 2 and a quarter hours trying to call with no joy. I downloaded the app, this has a chat box option. When I told them the issue, I was simply told they are unable to contact the pharmacy for individual prescription enquiries. Time to look for an alternative.

I have used “hunters” for a few years now but since changing to Well I haven’t been happy with the service. My prescription should have been delivered today only to be told it has been sent to the hub so won’t be delivered until Friday as they won’t get it back till tomorrow afternoon. They send it to the hub not on the day your doctor sends it over but the day they pull it off which adds extra days to the waiting time for prescriptions.
