Review titled Seeking advice
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I have gone to this pharmacy my whole life it’s where my prescriptions are sent, and I’ve also had pleasant experiences. Since the changes to see the pharmacy first on NHS I have used this service a couple of times and have found it very helpful and a nice experience. The person who served me today I again have seen a few times over the years and they have also given good advice about things. There was some who had been served before me and they were on their way out and no one at this time was behind me. The person had walked away from the till area leaving me waiting (have no problem with this I have worked in retail, things need to be quickly sorted out) I waited no rushing, but they came back to the till area very obvious annoyed. I said hello nicely and they asked what they could do. I’m not the most confident of people and do stumble over my words, I proceeded to tell them about a cough I’ve had for over a week and wanted to say that my cough are stubborn to leave but again looking annoyed said they've had a cough for 10 months , then waking away looking back at their colleagues who were now looking at me. I was only looking for advice but they said you want to see the pharmacist, to be honest being taken aback about what just happened I said yes please just to be able to talk to someone else. Then in front of me they went over to (who I later know to be the pharmacist) whispered, laughed and looked at me . As there was no one behind I was seen straight away which if I had to wait I probably would have just taken the chance to walk away, and now just wanted to experience to be over. I remain polite and just answered questions so I was able to leave. To be fair on the pharmacist they were nice and gave me advice and helped me with over the counter medication but to be honest I didn’t really give a full account of what was happening and how I was seeking help as this type of cough I get lasts awhile and hurts me( ribs, back) and wanted to try and get rid of it sooner, I don’t just go in for every random cough and again was looking for advice from the people on the counter. I did mention that a work in a school (around vulnerable children ) who I didn’t want to pass anything nasty over to. But I was made to feel like I had done something wrong for seeking help from people we are told to seek help from. I know they are busy and deal with people everyday but that is the service they are in. I won’t be returning to this pharmacy again.

Review titled Poor service

Went for Covid and flu jab. Booked appointment. Told this was a walk in clinic (same as previous reviews) and that flu jab wasn’t available. Covid jab given using same gloves worn with previous patient. I knew this as I was with previous patient. No hand gel used or handwashing evident. No explanation of what Covid jab was given …had to ask. No questions asked regarding allergies or high temperatures etc no leaflets or tracing codes issued. All in all very poor service.

Review titled Staff not proactive in resolving problems when they arise
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Chris Lunn - Posted on 07 October 2024
Went for Covid & Flu Jabs today. Greeted with large queue. Was informed by another patient that it was now a walk in service. I had a prebooked appointment so approached the pharmacy desk to query. I was told the pharmacy had not been aware that it was a prebooked appointment service and that they were running it as a walk in. The staff had made no attempt to find an appropriate solution (something as simple as a notice asking customers with appointment bookings to make them self known arrival to the desk so they could be prioritised would have done. The staff's approach was effectively just a shrug of the shoulders when a proactive approach was required. This is something that needs to be reviewed by the pharmacy. Luckily the duty pharmacist had just come out of finishing His previous patient and agreed to see me next. So credit to Him for resolving the situation. However it was a situation that should not have occured

Review titled Booked COVID Injection
Rated 1 star out of 5

My wife was booked in for her covid jab on the 19th October 24 at 11:15 we arrived around 11:00, only to be told that they had been operating a walk in for covid and that effectively no one actually had an appointment, not withstanding the issues over the booking on the nhs app we had approx 12 people in front of us all had appointments via the app yet it still took 2 hours for my wife to receive her jab, the pharmacist was taking between 15-20 minutes to administer the jab along with trying to issue prescriptions and deal with people needing medical advise. We enquired why it was taking so long there was no response, when we suggested that it might have been an idea to have another pharmacist on site to assist we were told that they had had an additional one on all week, clearly there should have been additional support on the weekend, they stopped people joining at 11:30 and we left there were still 4 people in the queue that had waited almost as long as us. In short this was a complete mess

Review titled Blatantly lied

Went for Covid and flu jabs via a booked appointment in the evening. Told they only offer a walk in service and that the booking system isn't affiliated with them and they have no control over it! Pointed out we booked via the official NHS appt but just got told to come back during the walk in hours (which were all during the working day).
