  1. Review titled Helpful and kind

Thank you to the Pharmacist, she went above and beyond to make sure I could get my steroid eyedrops (I have transplants in both my eyes). Even though Mudeford Pharmacy did not stock the eyedrops, she kindly went online with 111 to make sure that I could obtain them urgently. She is so knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful. I would also like to thank the staff for their help

I had an operation to remove a cancer in 2023.From the moment I came out of hospital they supported me , delivering prescriptions, chasing missing items , giving advice ,ordering items. They also supported my husband before he died in 2021 in a similar way. They are always friendly & helpful . Excellent.

  3. Review titled Extremely Rude and Unprofessional Pharmacist

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Matt C - Posted on 09 March 2024

I was signposted to this pharmacy due to my daughter having a fever for the last 6 days. On the 2nd day (Monday), my partner took her to our GP, who advised getting back in contact if symptoms were still present by Thursday - Friday, to consider a further assessment or course of antibiotics. Today being Saturday, her symptoms were still present. We followed all advice regarding keeping my daughter cool and treating with a combination of paracetamol and nurofen at the appropriate timings. Due to it being the weekend, our local practice wasn't open, so I called 111, and after going through a full assessment, she signposted us to our local pharmacy in Mudeford to obtain a course of antibiotics. I spoke to the resident pharmacist for the day, who from the first moment, wouldn't allow me to explain the circumstances. He overspoke me constantly and at one point, assumed I was someone else, by reading out another person's phone number. I asked him politely to let me finish talking, so I could explain what courses of action we'd taken so far. He repeatedly interrupted and advised that we treated our daughter with the exactly what we'd been doing all week anyway (he would have known if he'd let me explain). He then advised that I needed to see my G.P. I explained again that we had been through this and we were signposted to the pharmacy from 111. At one point, he put the phone down without letting me know this, and then eventually came back to me, only to tell me to hold on, and went away from the phone again. I then told him that we didn't seem to be getting anywhere, so I asked him to clarify whether he was refusing to provide us antibiotics or similar, to which he wouldn't answer yes or no. I asked this a few more times, with again no clear answer. I then attempted to ask him why he was being obstructive, however at this point he was still constantly overspeaking me, and then he had the audacity to accuse me of interrupting him. I said to him I wanted to move forward with this, but needed to get a straight answer to do this. At this point, the conversation carried on in the same vein, so, without raising my voice or being rude or personal, I clearly asked him several times what his name was, and he refused to answer, where again, he put the phone down. When he eventually picked the phone up again, I told him that his conduct was unprofessional and he was rude, and as a result, I would be making a complaint about him. At some point, he put the phone down on me again, so given this was the third time he'd done this, and the fact that he was preventing us from moving forward, I decided to terminate the call, and speak to 111 to update them. In summary, an extremely rude individual, who made assumptions without facts about what our situation was, without allowing me to explain these circumstances. No please or thank you at any point. I will now be reporting this individual to the Patient Advice & Liason Service.
