I have a regular prescription sent from my GP to this pharmacy every month. There is a sign saying prescriptions will now take 10 days to process - they should add the proviso 'if you are lucky'. It is a regular occurrence that I have to return 2 or 3 times before my prescription is dispensed - There is nearly always a large queue - so after waiting patiently for 20 - 30 minutes you are then told your prescription is not ready - and there is no reasonable explanation. This is appalling. Today - an assistant was about to come to the window to serve me when she stopped to say a long goodbye to her colleague who had finished her shift - this is with a queue of 7 or 8 people waiting. Every dispense of medication takes an age, it is so long winded. Never known this in the past at any other pharmacists. She then comes to serve me with a smirk on her face as she can see I have a face like thunder - it's not just her ignorance in ignoring me it's the general slovenliness and incompetence. There is only one member of the assistant staff who is any good at this pharmacy - who is polite, considerate and proficient. But of course she is rarely in. This was the 2nd time I had called in two days. Queued for 20 minutes to be told my prescription was still not ready. I explained that when I had called yesterday the assistant had assured me that my prescription would be ready. I had left it as late as possible to call in i.e. after 2.30pm. I explained that there were two medicines I was now absolutely desperate for. She then balled at me from across the dispensing area as to what it was I really needed - this I was not comfortably with - shouting out the name of my medicines for all others to hear - but she wouldn't come any closer. I was about to ask to speak to the pharmacist but then he was called in to administer flu jabs to a couple of customers. The assistants then seem to mutter amongst themselves - were embarrassed when the saw me lip reading them. My prescription suddenly appeared - it was made up and packaged and had been signed twice. Don't know what was going on here. Don't they know what they are doing? Couldn't they be bothered? or was it persecution of me? The assistant, rather rudely I thought addressed me by my first name, but I let it go as I was too angry and upset to respond civilly. They say they are understaffed - every time you enquire - they probably are - though this bunch do seem cripplingly slow. I don't know the facts - but I feel somebody or other is probably making money and keeping this business running at a financial minimum - detrimental to the customers - It certainly isn't a service. However when, on occasion, I have had to deal with a pharmacist I have always found them to be competent and professional. I feel sorry they have to work with such staff. But it is probably not their fault - they are probably underpaid and not trained or supervised properly. Changing pharmacy as soon as I can.

It's to frequent of an occurrence to be told prescriptions will be about 20 minutes. It's now the norm to have to plan in 2 trips minimum to collect a prescription - 1 to ask them to make it up and 2 to collect it. Queues are pushing 30 minutes long to be told prescriptions are either not received, medication not available or to wait another 20 minutes. There is no consideration specifically for the elderly that are struggling to queue on their feet for unacceptable periods of time. Please consider the following - One team member to focus on tending to the queue to simply ask their name and medication where they could be told within a minutes of availability instead of queueing for 30 minutes to be told the same, Add 1 or 2 chairs at along the queue line for the elderly to sit. In general, speed up, we understand and appreciate your services and challenges, however this shouldn't mean that duties are casually managed as if the norm is acceptable and as if there is no room for improvement. Also consider making up prescriptions in readiness for distribution during quieter times or after hours so that they are ready for customers to reduce queue and wait times (as once was the process). I've suggested at least 2 fairly straight forward solutions here that will improve customer experience.
