This pharmacy went through a very difficult period after it changed hands and there were times when it seemed a hopelessly inefficient operation. It is now transformed and seems to run a faultlessly smooth system staffed by extremely obliging people - a first class village asset.

I went to Milford Pharmacy at Milford on Sea today for my flu vaccination and have to write to say that it was the worst experience I have ever had and will never return even for a prescription. I am and always will be a great supporter of the NHS however this practice was not fit for purpose. Even the front door was grubby. I was checked in and followed the nurse into what amounted to literally a cupboard. There was no table or chairs even for the nurse, just a pile of boxes against the wall which I had to face whilst standing. I had to remove my arm from my jumper in full view of 3 or 4 people queuing for prescriptions at the counter. I asked if the door could be shut for privacy but the nurse said it couldn’t. I’m needle phobic and explained this to the nurse who I don’t blame as the conditions for her to work were shameful. We both had to stand in incredibly cramped and grubby conditions. I have been to other pharmacy’s for vaccinations (Ashley near New Milton) and they have a separate room where you can both sit down and the procedure explained which is always a stress for me. The leaflet that was handed to me on checking in today stated clearly that it should be read before the procedure. I only read it when I got home. Milford Pharmacy should be taken off the list of available locations for vaccinations with immediate effect until it has been checked and passed a thorough investigation of suitability and cleanliness.
