  1. Review titled Terrible decline in service

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by S K FORGET - Posted on 06 June 2025

I have been using the Horsell Pharmacy for 40 years for the majority of our prescription and over the counter medication. This includes our three children for part of the time. The service was always very good. This includes the period when you had to hand deliver your prescriptions through to the various methods of automated transmission from GP to pharmacy. Then there was a change of ownership. Initially, from my perspective, there was little change in service level. Over the last few weeks, however, there has been a dramatic decline in service level. It seems to be the norm now to have to queue for 20 to 30 minutes to get seen by the counter staff member to request the repeat prescription medication approved by the GP surgery the week before. I went to the pharmacy on three different days and left because the queue was back to the door. Today I had to face the queue as I was out of one of the medications. I waited 30mins to be seen by the counter staff member only to be told I would have to wait an hour for the prescription to be dispensed. When I expressed my displeasure at the poor service level I was told ' too bad there was a staff shortage'. It seems the counter staff are not trained in good customer service when dealing with dissatisfied customers. Talking to fellow "queuers" it was clear this was becoming the norm. Also, some of the people were not in a very fit state to stand for such a time in a queue. I have noticed for a while now that the pharmacy by Waitrose invariably has a long queue. Whilst dealing with the Horsell Pharmacy issue I noticed both are operated by the same company. I fear that staff shortage, rather than being an aberration will be the norm. Also, this pharmacy is now stating that prescription requests be placed with the GP 10 days (one assumes working days) before pickup. This is beyond a joke. I think I will be looking for another pharmacy. Not very green but maybe the NHS doesn't care.

  2. Review titled Dirty, shabby and disorganized for vaccination

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to an appointment for a covid and flu vaccination at the Consultation room in Horsell, Woking pharmacy. The room is very shabby, dirty and disorganised. And it is so small that two people waiting in a que could hardly get their walking aids in. It is in effect just a little space added to the main pharmacy. The pharmacist giving the vaccination looked as if she doesn't wash her clothes and gave an amateur vaccination. My friend who went to the Woking Boots pharmacy and my husband who went to his GP practice in Knaphill had a completely different and satisfactory experience. They were also given an explanatory leaflet about the Covid vaccination. I wasn't even told the name of the vaccine or the batch number I had made an appointment for 10.50 but didn't get the vaccination until about 45 minutes later. When checking my NHS app it did give the vaccine and batch number. But in another area of the app there is a record of Covid 19 vaccination given at both 11.03 and 12.00 on the same day. I only had one. I will certainly never go there again for any sort of consultation.

  3. Review titled Shocking attitude

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was told that one of my medications was out of stock and they were uncertain when it would be back in stock. the person suggested going back to the surgery and seeking an alternative. Despite this, they tried to charge me for the prescription and the person got annoyed and short when I challenged the charge. When called on her attitude, the lady got quite aggressive. I am unsure what the staff gain from confronting patients in this manner. I would suggest that you keep an eye on what they are charging you as they attempted to charge me for a medication that not be available in future.

  4. Review titled Very efficient service

I changed my pharmacy to this one as I had read some good reviews and the service at my last one was very poor I have now got my first prescription and registered as it was dispensed very fast the day I handed it in.
