  1. Review titled Poor service

Prescription wait times unacceptable due to staff not checking whether people are waiting. Chatting in back room accept there may be times when busy but a simple acknowledgement that that have at least noticed you waiting would be good service and good manners. Attitude of some staff very poor made to feel like you are an imposition almost bordering on rudeness. Dont go when it opens as the pharmacist isnt there. Dont understand why opening hours do not reflect the unavailability of the pharmasist. Wasted journey to pick up prescription despite it being ready (understand the staff cant give it out) Why not make it clear collection is not available just after opening or ask the pharmacist to ensure he/she is on time.

I am very sorry to hear that you were kept waiting when you visited Hesketh Park Pharmacy. Our employed pharmacist manager who works Monday to Thursday has not been late this year and takes pride in her timeliness. Perhaps your visit was when we had arranged a replacement pharmacist. Usually they are also dependably present in good time, but clearly there has been a slip up in this respect. There was one occasion I am aware that a replacement pharmacist on duty was delayed and made late by an urgent domestic problem that he encountered. Even so, the team should have asked if you could return a short time later, or if you would prefer a delivery on the next available slot. Your complaint is being taken seriously (regarding prescription pick up and other matters). It has been raised with the team together with a discussion as to what to do in future. It is true that without the pharmacist present, other members of the dispensing team are not allowed to hand out completed prescriptions, so unfortunately the dispenser truly was not allowed to give to you your medication, odd though that sounds. The NHS is reviewing potential changes to such supervision of tasks but still as yet no firm approach to legislation and regulations is in place. In summary, I am sorry for the poor service you received; we are emphasising the vital importance of good time keeping of the pharmacist. Robert Andrew Director, Hesketh Park Pharmacy
