  1. Review titled Worse pharmacy ever!

Rated 1 star out of 5

Worst pharmacist I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Decided to ignore the quantity on the prescription and instead randomly chose for me how many pills per day I should be taking and explained his nonsense in detail. About 75% less. I'm sure the oncology specialists would be highly amused but I certainly was not. I was forced to show him a letter from said specialists disproving his "theory". I admit I got agitated as I was starting to feel really unwell, there was no internet signal to pull the letter from my phone and although my GP surgery had asked he called them to explain, he refused to do so, only after I was almost in tears and, yes, raised my voice, he provided me with the WiFi so I could retrieved such letter. He even snatched back the incorrect prescription from my hand before grudgingly preparing the correct amount. A very painful and upsetting experience that took almost an hour. You don't need this horrendous attitude when already dealing with cancer and the consequences of life changing surgery. Those pills are a lifeline and being told that “people like me” clear up the shelves was beyond upsetting and out of order! I would clearly much rather leave them on the shelves if I had the option! I should not need to explain to the pharmacist in front of strangers what my condition is and therefore how many pills I need to take a day! Although I realise there is a global shortage of this particular medication (hence why I could not let it go and just go to a different pharmacy), why would a pharmacist question the amount of pills prescribed by the GP, particularly given the importance of such medication? Why would he then challenge me when I explained the reasoning behind the amount! I am already mentally struggling to accept my condition and such an experience made me cry and feel really down for the entire day, when I am so desperately trying to get my life back! To work in any healthcare sector you must have empathy, which is completing lacking in anyone at this chemistry!

  2. Review titled Cannot be trusted

Rated 1 star out of 5

The Heatherside Pharmacy advertises 'flu jabs without appointment. On visiting last week we were told they start in October so we had to book. We were given appointments for 1100 today (1st October) but I queried this as I seemed to remember they start on the 3rd, however I was assured it was okay and they took our telephone number in case of a problem. I checked again online to see that the start date is indeed the 3rd so my wife revisited the pharmacy the next day and was assured that the appointment was valid for the 1st. No surprise then to find that with the usual crowd of people waiting for their prescriptions to be made up, or waiting to be served, we were told the 'flu jabs are not being given until the 3rd! This pharmacy used to be superb but is a disaster since it was taken over a few years ago and it seems to be getting worse. This pharmacy is untrustworthy and we will go elsewhere in future.

  3. Review titled No Clear Return Policies for Drugs

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I purchased ibuprofen and paracetamol tablets, but as I was leaving, I recalled that my wife had already bought them. When I returned to the store to refund them, they immediately refused, claiming the tablets might be contaminated. I hadn't even opened the box, let alone touched any of the tablets, yet within minutes, they deemed them contaminated. I would understand if the seal is broken or otherwise tampered with but in this case it is not even possible because the box hasn't even been opened. It's not just their refusal to take items back, but their attitude towards customers, as if they've stolen from the store. Please consider avoiding any purchases from them, apart from your prescriptions, as they may invent rules spontaneously. Not all of them could be considered rude, but certainly, some assistants could benefit from applying their intelligence more frequently.
