Review titled Brilliant Advice at the Weight Management
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 09 May 2025
I have been attending the weight management clinic for two months. This specific experience has been positive. The care and attention from the Pharmacist is exceptional. He explains everything in detail and I feel confident with his support in the advice and guidance of weight loss medication.

Review titled Staff shouted swear word f*** off twice at a lady.
Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately I experienced a horrible service today from Gordon Short on College Road. I was in queue I didn't hear any manners the woman at the front was checking him with her mouth open and the 2 young woman were argumentative. The first walked into the back room and shouted 'Sound' when being asked not to speak in a bad manner to patients who were not well. The second female after being left there and already short staff was left there by the culprit. She walked away shouted 'f*** off' twice. Although she swore and wasn't up to the nhs standard I'm usually highly impressed by who have professionalism care and basic manners, somehow her swear words shouted were not nearly as bad as the other 2 woman who had no customer service at all. The woman who swore was under pressure having been left by her colleague who walked off slouching and shouted 'sound' then stormed away leaving people in need of help and support or any basic manners. I can't be to the community or myself if I don't leave this honest review but would like to say with some more training and supportive colleagues the woman who swore would be a good member of staff. The pharmacist who was male he was excellent and the other gentleman was great. The 2 culprits are a disgrace and I will never return there again because of them. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the NHS and my lovely community of supportive neighbours. It has let down the Gordon Short Pharmacy who on the best of days most are average. I hope this is amended as we don't need bullies in our care positions.

Review titled Abrupt service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Crosby PPG member - Posted on 15 June 2023
It is with deepest regret that I write this review. Shorts Chemist have satisfactorily fulfilled my prescriptions for decades, but the treatment I received a few days ago was abrupt and quite rude. And later when I telephoned, the response I received was appalling, arrogant and unhelpful. When I called for my prescription, I was told they didn’t have it and to contact my doctor, at which point the assistant walked away. I returned home, contacted my doctor, who informed me that the prescription had been sent to Shorts Chemist four days earlier. I telephoned the chemist and spoke to who I believe was the same person that served me earlier. She was adamant that they did not have my prescription and would not listen to me properly. Having closed our conversation, I felt that the information Shorts had was wrong, so I returned the call immediately, and entered into yet another discussion, which seemed almost argumentative, as the assistant spoke over me without listening to my side. Nevertheless, I prevailed and eventually managed to convince her that their computer information was incorrect – and was eventually told they did, in fact, have my prescription. I feel that the initial contact was curt. That no effort was made to double check my credentials while I was on the premises. That my conversation with the assistant was not customer friendly. Anybody with a modicum of sense would have stopped to check my details. I would like to point out that I am in my late seventies and suffer greatly in the heat, and another unnecessary visit to the chemist is really not want I need. In fact, it has taken me 2 days to recover, before attempting the journey once more. I have dealt with Shorts chemist for many years and have never experienced anything like this. I am totally disappointed; dissatisfied and feel I have to point this matter out. I am not happy that I feel I have to complain, but if it were another customer who was less able to think through such a situation, then they would have been led a merry chase round doctors, chemists and so on, which could be much more detrimental to their health. May I suggest that the pharmacist, manager, or whoever is in charge remind the staff to be a little more helpful, heedful of fully investigating a situation, rather than chasing customers away so abruptly.
