If you ring on Saturday morning, when they have few staff in (how do the public know this?), they don’t answer calls at all!! Presumably this is likely to occur at other low staff times, aswell. All the caller gets is a message saying you are in a queue and your call will be answered in the order you placed your call. Fine, if it were true!!! Whilst trying to check if a prescription had landed, I was waiting for 45 minutes on hold (totally oblivious to the fact that I was in actually being deliberately ‘ignored’ or ‘avoided’). I finally gave up & checked the closing times for myself online. (Not always an accurate thing, depending on which website you end up on….). To my horror I only had 23 minutes to drive there, not knowing if it would be a wasted journey or not. Conclusions: It would be much more helpful if telephone messages reflected more accurately what the situation is, why the calls are not nor will not be answered that day. Otherwise, callers can’t make informed decisions. As it happens, I very nearly ran out of the repeat daily medication I had been prescribed, through no fault of my own. The incident could also have resulted in some kind of accident as I had to panic & rush to get to the chemist before it closed! It might also be helpful to include opening times on the voice message as a general rule, as once again websites are not always up to date. Thank you in advance for your appreciation to these suggestions.
