Review titled Awful Parmacy - please don’t use
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 March 2025
This pharmacy is simply awful . It is my mum and dad’s pharmacy . They gettheir prescriptions delivered . I often have to travel 20 miles to find out why their prescriptions have not been delivered . I can’t phone to check as the phones don’t work - the office manager told me they leave them off the hook because they get too many calls . Today my visit has been chasing up prescriptions that have been with the pharmacy for 6 days (.with the Doctors 5 days before ) They hadn’t got round to processing it - they didn’t seem to care . They generally don’t have the drugs in stock and owe tablets - sometimes they get delivered sometimes I have to chase them up . There is always a queue - its people chasing up prescriptions generally that have been with them for days. Last year I spoke with the pharmacy manager ( she gave me her mobile number after mum mum was nearly left with no life saving medication ) She told me things would change - they have - for the worse not better . It really is shocking service

Have rang at least12+ times in last hour keeps ringing then switched off automatically then ring again engaged. They never answer phone when you are very lucky to speak to ask them to get script ready thinking that when you pick up no waiting forget it, its still a wait half hour more. This chemist is a disgrace. Can't wait to change

Missed items again today. Never has full prescribed medication in stock...even after prescriptions are sent over a week in advance. Consistently missing items - which are emergency treatment. Poor customer service and poor attitude. Phone always engaged/rings out.

Review titled Staff could not care less about you or your medication
Rated 1 star out of 5

My partner has visited this pharmacy 3 times in the past week to try and collect repeat prescription. Every single time the pharmacist has said it will arrive the next day, every single day it's not arrived. It's a huge shame that the pharmacists choose to lie to the public who rely on the promise that they will put an ounce of effort or care into doing their jobs properly. In past weeks, when the medication was there it was always an incorrect, lower dosage. My partner suffers from withdrawal symptoms which affect her quality of life as a result of the pharmacists negligence. Please NHS retrain or replace the staff at Deysbrook Pharmacy.

Review titled Totally disorganised place .

My daughter ,who is type 1 diabetic has just been to pick up a prescription for insulin and other items .She was already owed two bottles of insulin from her last prescription .She arrived there today only to be told that they had no insulin for her .The unhelpful girl said she could either go to another pharmacy for it or they could try and order it for tomorrow .I find that odd that surely if it is from the last prescription then they should already have it and going to another pharmacy is not an option as they obviously have to order it in .When my daughter said she was on her last bottle there was little or no response .Do they not realise that diabetics having no insulin is a matter of life or death .These workers need educating .Fortunately for my daughter one male staff who seems to be the only one doing his job and not talking about where he is going and what he had for his tea last night heard what was going on .He said there was a place in the back where the insulin could be and came out with two bottles . I just wonder why the others weren’t able to find these ??Whoever is running this place needs to start running it in a more professional manner .We don’t want to know when you put your Christmas tree up .People just want their prescriptions on time .

Review titled Going downhill fast
Rated 2 stars out of 5

The pharmacy now has more staff, but seems to be unable to do what went smoothly before. Over the last few months I’ve had to chase up my medication despite the fact that my doctor submitted the prescription seven days beforehand. On visiting the pharmacy I found that the prescription had not been done, so had to wait half an hour while other customers (with similar circumstances) were dealt with. Since my medication is delivered, all this is inconvenient. I will give it one more go with this pharmacy to see if they they a grip and actually do what they are supposed to. I hate giving negative reviews, but the business will self-destruct if they continue in this manner. Hopefully they’ll listen!

Review titled Dreadful Experience

If you can help it then please use an alternative pharmacy. Waited for an hour queuing outside (thankfully no rain) . Que literally out the door. Rude unhelpful staff who were really unkind to elderly. Only 2 chairs inside for patients who are unwell or elderly having to stand for what could be an hour for their prescription. Not in my nature to leave a review but my experience from today left me really unsettled and upset from what I witnessed. I’m 60 and only needed a form, god help the sick.

Review titled mostly happy apart from lately, younger staff problem
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Have always been happy with this pharmacy, pleasant staff, until recently it is becoming a chore to try and get my medication. My repeat prescription is sent from West Derby Medical centre to pharmacy next door. New younger staff at the Winterburn pharmacy I don't think are passing important information onto senior staff and they make you feel that you are not entitled to this medication that may be expensive and hard to acquire. Won't mention the younger person in question, but never looks happy, like its a chore what they have to do. Numerous visits to get meds from one repeat medication list. I understand that medication deliveries from pharmaceuticals can sometimes be delayed as a clinician myself of 35 years I understand this, but when I asked the younger member of staff last week who informed me they don't have my medication, if they could make sure it was ordered and they said yes, only to turn up this week to find it hadn't been ordered, don't like being fobbed off. Then miraculously day after my 2nd visit to pick up meds it had arrived. So 3rd visit finally got all medication. Just be honest, mishaps happen I understand, but don't lie to patients. Senior staff members at this pharmacy are great, a younger staff member not so much.
