I pre booked my flu jab. When I arrived I was told the lady was on a break and therefore they couldn’t do it at the designated time. I had made a special journey. Disgraceful

My surgery authorised a repeat prescription yesterday or the day before. I went to the pharmacy about 11:00 am today and waited in a long queue for 5 minutes before being served. After a few more minutes I was asked if it was for 1 fridge item (that was my previous prescription). I told them it was for 6 regular items. A few more minutes went by before they came back with the old story "it's only just arrived" and said it would be half an hour. I said that I would come back and did so about 5 hours later. Guess what; it again took some time to locate and still had not been dispensed. I sometimes wonder how they stay in business!!!!!!

I have used this pharmacy for many years but recently have found the service has gone down. I usually pick up a monthly prescription but for the last 3 months there have been problems. The first month it couldn't be found & they had to put up another one, last month they gave me someone elses prescription and this month it apparently hasn't come through from the GP. Another annoying feature is them closing for one hour over a lunchtime, not very handy for people who pop in during their break time. There is one staff member who is always pleasant and friendly and will go out of their way to help but the others, who appear to be newer staff do not come across as very helpful at all. Hopefully whatever problems the pharmacy are facing at the moment, they will soon be resolved and it will return to its usual standard.

On the 24/4/2023 I visited the Crest Chemist in the Co-op Franch Rd to pick my wife's prescription up which contained about seven items, when I got home we checked the the prescription and found that two boxes of Co-codamol 30/500 tablet were missing, so the following day I returned and told the Duty Pharmacist that the tablets were missing, he said sorry and replaced the two box's of Co-codamol, when I got home I checked the label and it said 30mg/500mg caps, but it said on the boxes 10mg/200mg so he dispensed the wrong tablets which is a terrible mistake on his part, this could have had serious consequences if the strength of the tablets had been the other way round. This is not the first issues we have had with Crest, whe you go and pick up a prescription they have to search through boxes of prescriptions scattered all round the floor of the Pharmacy, on one occasion it took twenty minutes to find our prescription. In all my years and I am a pensioner it is the worst service I have ever had from a Chemist. We have since moved to another Chemist.

Last time I had a 20min wait whilst they found the script and made up the prescription, despite them having had the repeat prescription for several days. This time I was made to give out my date of birth as an identifying feature in front of a pharmacy full of people, despite my surname being a little unique. And he wouldn’t accept just the day and month, he wanted the year as well. 2 of the 3 items weren’t ready, so I had to wait. But before the chap would actually give me my medication, he insisted on me giving out my address as well, despite him already knowing my date of birth. Again, in front of a pharmacy full of people. Whilst I’m more than aware of the need to ensure the correct person collects the correct medication, some consideration also needs to be given as to also protecting the patient’s personal information. Want to obtain some confidential information - go and stand in that pharmacy. Find out individual names, dates of birth plus their individual addresses……

Since Crest took over this pharmacy I have been extremely disappointed. Usually there is a long wait for them to locate your prescription and frequently it has not been issued and/or checked. There have been occasions where items have been missing because they were out of stock or simply left in the fridge. Today I went to collect a new prescription and when brought out I queried the fact that a bulky item appeared to be missing and was told that it wasn't on the prescription and that they would order one and I would need to return in 5 days to collect it. I left feeling rather disgruntled and when I returned home I opened the bag to find several medications which I had not ordered, but not one of those that I had ordered. I then had to return to the pharmacy to sort out what had happened. It turned out that the prescription issued to me was one from the previous month which had already been collected!!! I then had a long wait while they prepared the correct prescription which actually included the item I was supposed to wait 5 days for. To say that I am unhappy is an understatement. If there was another pharmacy within a convenient distance then I would most assuredly change.

We live local to The Crest Pharmacy situated in the Co-op supermarket on Franche Road Kidderminster. Since the Crest Pharmacy has taken over the pharmacy in this store the service has gone down from when the Co-op run the pharmacy, every time you go in there for a prescription which has been pre-ordered they can never find your prescription. we visited the pharmacy last week for a prescription and were waiting 20,Minutes for them to find the prescription. We attended again today for another prescription for my wife and myself yet again we were waiting 20,minutes for them to find the prescriptions.. the young girl who served us was searching through boxes on the floor which had prescriptions in that had already been made up and I presume were waiting to be collected. The young girl was searching through all different kinds of paperwork to find our prescriptions. We have heard so many people who are very dissatisfied with this pharmacy since it has been taken over by The Crest Pharmacy. You cannot blame the staff as most of the staff are the same its the system or the lack of a system. In addition the pharmacy closes on a Saturday at 17.00 hrs its closed on a Sunday and you cant buy over the counter medication between 1300-14.00hrs as the pharmacy is closed. The pharmacy seems totally disorganised since the Crest took over. Regarding the prescriptions surely it would make sense to have a pigeon hole system on the one wall marked A-Z where the prescriptions could be placed and not just put in boxes on the floor and not expect customers to wait 20, mins plus, this would make it workable for staff to find the appropriate patients prescriptions instead of having them on the floor.

Review titled waste of time

Having used the co op for years my repeat prescription is 15 items since crest took over the time it takes to get your order filled is over a week. Then after days the prescription still needs checking so more waiting. I will now change my pharmacy as crest seem unable to cope. The poor lady on the counter has to take all the flak from customers subjected to long waits. It never used to be like this.

Had to collect prescriptions (long term use) for parents due to both having Covid and wasnt aware the pharmacy had changed opening hours as i never normally need to go there (dont live in area) the team were going on lunch and were closed from 1-2 but took the time to help me out on this Occassion so i had the meds required. Many thanks for your help. It saved me further issues!
