I went to the pharmacy wearing mask and gloves. I was suffering from COVID and rash. I was following NHS 111 advice to buy myself antihistamine. I honestly said to the woman at the counter that I have COVID and I am here to buy anti-allergy tablets following NHS 111 advice. The woman at the counter started frantically putting on hand sanitiser and asked me, "Why are you here?! You should not have come here! You should not be outside!" I explained that I live on my own and I do not have anyone to help me buy anti-histamine. I explained that NHS 111 asked me to come to buy allergy tablets and that I have rash started from early hours of the morning. She asked me to stand further away and said that the pharmacist would come and see me. The pharmacist did not come. She put a facial mask on herself and then gave me tablets and said, "Here! I strongly suggest that you go home straight away!" I asked her how many tablets I should take and she looked at the box and said, "one in 24 hours." And, then she repeated that I need to be home and stay home and should not be around people. It was most unkind to a person living on her own. I also called NHS 111 to ask for medication advice and they advised me to call Boots pharmacist and ask them. I called them a couple of times and nobody picked up.
