I recently visited the Rustington branch and was met with an incredibly abrupt and dismissive response when I asked if anything could be prescribed to relieve earache. The response I got was: “No – Next!” I would never treat a customer like that! In their defence, I did pop in last minute. I get it — it’s infuriating when customers show up 15 minutes before closing, but a basic “Sorry, we’re not able to offer that” would have sufficed. I went in as a last resort, in pain and desperate for some help, but the member of staff at the desk was so unnecessarily rude. I wasn’t demanding anything, nor did I truly expect them to be able to help (especially at that time of day), but I was met with hostility just for daring to ask. The rest of the team are typically very good at sorting out my prescriptions, but whoever ‘served’ me late that afternoon needs to seriously reconsider being in a customer-facing role. Their manners were genuinely shocking. A reminder that a little empathy goes a long way, especially in healthcare settings. (This took place on 03/06/25).
