Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by D Donaldson - Posted on 22 July 2023
I would like to praise the service I have received by the pharmacist & assistant in my local Boots in Egremont, Cumbria. It has been a very stressful few months trying to get hold of my daughter’s medications but the support we have received has been fantastic nothing has been too much for them. Thanks so much it is really appreciated.

Review titled Worse and worse
Rated 1 star out of 5

A couple of years ago, I was able to re-order the same items at the same time as I collected a prescription. This worked just fine. Then I was told I had to submit a re-order form a week ahead of the due date, which placed the responsibility on me to remember to re-order in good time. Still no great problem, but Boots (Sale m33) now started to have problems producing the items on the appropriate date. Last visit, three months ago, I was told that I could no longer do this but now had to re-order online (fortunately, I am comfortable with online systems, but what if I wasn't?). I was a little annoyed that I had not been told on my previous visit that this change was coming but they did accept the re-order form "just this once". Last week I re-ordered my BP medications via the Boots web site and got a confirmatory email saying that the order would be ready today. When I tried to collect I was told that the branch had no knowledge of any order and that I should refer to my GP. I checked the online 'order progress' which recorded the receipt of the order but did not show the 'order sent to GP' action as completed. The Boots website tells me, if I have a query about progress, to speak to the branch, but the branch had already told me that they knew nothing about the order. I finally emailed Boots "customer service" and await an explanation. To resolve the issue, I contacted my GP who has issued a new prescription to cover this requirement. Boots' service has gone from satisfactory to unacceptable and this will be the last prescription order I will place with them. They constantly seem to be under-staffed; queues are not unusual and waits can be lengthy. I am fortunate in having a couple of independent pharmacies within walking distance, so it is no problem changing provider but I sympathise with anyone who has to put up with this appallingly cavalier attitude to customer service.

Review titled Never have my medication
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 June 2023
Whenever I order medication through my GP the prescription goes to my local Boots pharmacy. However, they never seem to have everything. One time I took a prescription from a hospital for eye drops and they just said they didn't have them and just gave the prescription back to me. They did not even make any attempt to get them in. I went to another pharmacy who did answer the phone and who did have them. This time I waited 9 days before collecting my prescription. No text to say it was ready so I tried to telephone Boots. No answer at all from the store. Neither the pharmacy or general enquiries bothered to answer my call. I called my GP who confirmed that they had sent the prescriptions six days earlier. When I arrived at Boots and after a twenty minute queue, I was told that it was being checked. Another wait. When I finally received the prescription they both had an item unavailable. One was for an item that I saw on the shelf and another was eye drops for glaucoma. They just never seem to have eye drops. I have, in the past, had to get another prescription from the GP and go to another pharmacy that does have them. When I arrived home, I then found that they have given me the wrong medication again. They do not read their own notes. I cannot have anything that contains orange flavouring. Another trip tomorrow to get them to change it. I should change my pharmacy, inspite of the fact that they are the only one within walking distance and I don't drive.

Review titled Prescription never ready on due date
Rated 1 star out of 5

Boots Brunswick Centre wc1n I ordered repeat prescription for my mother early because she would run short of her medication over the bank holiday weekend. I wanted her prescription to be given to me all at once so I do not have to go back several times for each item and have to wait inthe queue for 30 to 40 min each time for the same prescription to be filled. Boots the Chemist did not have it ready a on due date. They didn't give my mum's eyedrops Memantine Cetra cream, mouthwash and they didn't give me my eyedrops and I have Glaucoma. They never have my medication ready ontime. They text me saying prescription is ready for collection when I go to collect it I'm told to come back for it later or the next day. The Dr sends the whole prescription for my mother to be Filled by Boots but the shop assistant/girls do not give it to me on date as prescribed. Boots does not fulfill it's duty to dispense medication as and when prescribed by the Doctor. Staff ignore you leave you standing at the counter 3-4mins like you're invisible. Poor customer service.
