  1. Review titled Mocked for requesting my long-term prescription

    I asked one of the pharmacists to collect 3 prescriptions my GP had sent for me (my long-term medication for the autoimmune disease I live with and a short-term antibiotic). She responded that the short-term medication will be ready but the long-term medication that I take every month have been sent to an outsourced service and will take several more days to arrive. To that I responded that this change (the use of the outsourced company for long-term repeat prescriptions) has happened in the last couple of months and is putting unnecessary stress to patients living with long-term conditions making planning a lot more complicated. I also requested to check if they have my medication in store because they are quite common and every pharmacy can prepare them in a couple of minutes. The pharmacist said that she can do that, for which I thanked her. But once she went at the back of the counter to prepare my order she made a sarcastic joke to the other pharmacists that I insisted getting them now because it is 'too stressful to come back' and people started laughing and making fun ot my request. I really find this mocking commentary repulsive, insensitive and inappropriate for a health-related sector such as a pharmacy. The simple request I had for today to collect all of my medication (which was in the store) at once should not have been mocked or made fun of. I believe that your staff should be better trained and more aware of responsibilities they have to all patients and especially people with long-term conditions who try to juggle real life and difficult medical realities. Empathy, understanding and respect should be key.

    Went in first thing, lack of staff. Told my items were in fridge got half of them didn’t realise till home. Rang them no answer on phone and was cut off after third time trying. What a horrible place to be a customer.

    This Boots has been offering a terrible service for a long time and shows no signs of improvement. Your GP can turn round your prescription almost immediately but Boots insist on 7 days plus to dispense it. Even then my experience is that it’s still not ready and they say they have to make it up and ask you to come back. Even if you don’t want a prescription and just want some over the counter medication you have to wait in a long queue of frustrated and angry people who haven’t been able to get their prescription. Awful experience but you have no choice because Lloyds has changed hands. And rumour has it the other Boots store is closing too so it will get even worse.

    10 days to process prescription. I hour que to get to counter to be served. Only one person serving. 30 people in que for service. Extremely understaffed. Prescription wrong told to come back, then another 50 minutes to get served. Got told script comes from Docs, then goes to Sheffield for dispensing, then back to Cottingham with drugs, then checked at Cottingham before given out. I Absolute shambles, needs more staff and better management. Will not use again am changing chemist.
