I use Boots in Pitsea quite a bit and theyve always been great. I received a request from my clinic for a blood pressure check. ‘Dear patient, I'd like you to submit your blood pressure reading. If you don't have access to a blood pressure monitor at home, please get in touch with one of our receptionists about your options.’ I asked the lady at the till if they could take my reading and send onto my clinic. The lady asked the pharmacist who clearly didnt want to do it. Maybe she was busy. But she told me it had to be done by the clinic. She asked if id had my annual review for my diabetes which i said i had a few months previously. I told her it was just a check and that i had done myself in the past and sent a screenshot. She wouldnt accept this and said a form would have to be filled in to do it and i needed to see the clinic. I dont drive and i work which makes it hard for me to do this without taking a day off. Going on the message i was sent by my clinic there is no reason whatsoever that she could not have assisted me with this. Extremely poor practice im afraid, given that we are told now to use our pharmacy wherever possible. So now im going to buy a new monitor and take a reading, then send a screenshot to my clinic. Something that she could have done. Thanks for your help Boots.
