  2. Review titled Blood pressure check

Rated 5 stars out of 5

They were kind enough to check my blood pressure. No waiting and friendly service. As a bonus my blood pressure was in the normal range, so all in all a really good visit.

  3. Review titled Unacceptable Delays

Rated 1 star out of 5

Nearly two weeks waiting for a prescription to be filled. This includes insulin. The Springs in Leeds branch is a shambles. The texting system is completely unreliable

  4. Review titled Astounding electronic prescription delays and unreal excuses

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stunned - Posted on 16 February 2023

For the past 4 months, electronic repeat prescriptions ordered & approved 8-14 days (!) before running out of my medication have had no update, no notification from the pharmacy for 6-8 days (!). Phoning them or joining the absurd queues (due to zero system in place for being able to find out whether a prescription is ready for collection) consistently ended up with the following situation: 1. Claims were made that "it just arrived", "was to be prepared for tomorrow" - this was miraculously independent of how many days I waited until I decided to contact the pharmacy. 2. The claims, even if true, and the experienced vast delays combined with zero notifications from pharmacy are in complete violation of the "up to three working days" timeline stated by NHS and many other pharmacies I enquired at. This culminated this month with a 7 day delay, phoning in, and then being told they cannot get hold of the pills that I must not & cannot stop taking abruptly - with still 5 days' worth of pills left, I had to phone around to find other pharmacies. When I asked what if I waited even more than one week of zero news from the Boots pharmacy until I contacted them, the claim was that they "were about to phone me" about the situation. This is not only appaling, it raises extremely serious questions due to this repeating pattern and the utterly ludicrous claims made by pharmacy every single time - not to mention the repeatedly proven chaos and inability to manage at elementary level the simple process. This will be followed up via formal channels, as the latest shocking blunder and made-up claims were even literally laughed off by the pharmacy staff where I finally located what I needed. It seems two weeks of in-advance submission & GP approval is not enough for this pharmacy to manage to prepare the prescription and notify the customer.

  5. Review titled Impossible Staffing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I pick up significant amounts of weekly medication. There are always long queues and often after a huge wait you find the medication is not or only part available. The pharmacy is often shut with no notice and there is no readily available comprehensible signage to say when the pharmacy will next be open. I order through Patient Access and have currently been waiting a week but have still not been messaged to say my meds are ready and this conflicts with GP who says not to order more than 2/3 days ahead. Often customers are kept waiting at the deserted main counter for non prescription drugs because either they are not visible to the pharmacist or because they are too busy filling prescriptions. As for medication reviews and private area- forget it! Yet the local Boots store was shut down. Friends are transferring elsewhere in droves and my GP says she receives more complaints about Boots than anywhere else and they are impossible to phone.
