    This branch seems to be stuck in the last century, they have minimal opening hours and still close for lunch!! Open at 9am and never past 6pm weekdays which is not good for people who work, then only for half a day on a Saturday 9-1. Prescriptions usually take weeks to be issued and often come up short, even items you regularly have on repeat, you go back and they still haven’t got the missing items. Moody staff who clearly dont want to be there and shelves often very low in stock or empty, ‘Boots Chemist’ in name only and not the standard of service you would expect from this longstanding company.

    Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration and can only apologise for your experience. Unfortunately, our opening hours were reduced in line with the hours we're contracted to be open by the NHS. We understand that this may not suit our working patients and would be happy for recommend nearby branches of ours, that may close slightly later than us to meet your needs. The speed issuing of prescriptions isn't something we control. We do are utmost best to request prescriptions in a timely manner on behalf of our patients, if this is something their surgeries allow. If you order your medicine yourself, our advice is always to request them with your surgery or ourselves at least 7 days before you're due to run out as we aim to avoid any patient going without their medicine. Most surgeries state they take 2-3 days to fulfil a prescription request and send it to us. Following this, we try to dispense the medicine ASAP but may also require an extra day to order your medicines from our suppliers if they're not in stock with us. We too, are frustrated with the stock issues affecting most pharmacies in the UK at the moment. If we cannot order a medicine from a supplier, we issue owings in the hopes that they'll come back into stock and be delivered in the next few days. Usually, the medicines do come in, but again, the speed of that is not in our control. We're completely at the mercy of our suppliers. We do however, try to off-set this by attempting to contact patients who've had outstanding medicines with us for a while. Usually, this is to update on the status of the original medicine and suggest alternatives to prevent any further delay to symptom management/treatment. We hope this clarifies the issues we're facing and what we do to off-set this for our patients. We hope to improve your experience in the future. Boots, Middlemore Road

    The staff are always very helpful and pleasant. I had a phone call from the pharmacy regarding my medication recently, it was very helpful and helped me solve a mobility problem by being able to use this chemist. It's so nice to deal with real people who care.
