    I have had a few times where I have had to wait unreasonably long times in this pharmacy but today was the final straw. I went to pick up 3 prescriptions. 2 of them were ordered at least 2 days ago so they should of already been there. As per the staff had to look allover before finding them on the computer and then asking me to wait, fine I am not an unreasonable person. In the time I was waiting, no less than 12 people came and went… After 25 minutes I had to ask and express that I had been waiting 25 minutes… only then did they seem to find the prescription and after another ten minutes waiting I finally had my prescription… a full 45 minutes later. I know places are short staffed and sometimes mistakes are made but this isnow a regular occurrence and 45 minutes waiting for prescriptions that should of been sorted 2 days prior is completely unacceptable. Also I found the staff here can be quite rude, there can be a really big queue at times yet they do nothing to acknowledge people, they can also be short and rude if you should dare ask where your meds are after an unreasonable wait.

    We apologise that you have had longer to wait than usual. We are aware that due to being a staff member short while we recruit, and staff taking holidays it has put a lot more pressure on the pharmacy team. They are not aware that any customer has experienced a 45 minute wait, but did inform us that over the last few weeks waiting times have been longer. I assure you the team works very hard to ensure prescriptions are dispensed as promptly as possible. One problem we face is when the surgeries inform patients they have sent the prescription to their designated pharmacy, patients understandably believe it will be there waiting, this is not the case. They are not always submitted at the time of the consultation, many surgeries only send all the prescriptions to the NHS spine once or twice a day. We would then download them the morning after at which point the medication is ordered and may not arrive until the following day. Patients need to be made aware to please wait 2 days before collecting their medication. I appreciate this is not as smooth as when patients got a green prescription to take to a pharmacy themselves, but this is the changing world of NHS. Please also be aware the whole country is experiencing shortages in many prescription drugs and sourcing medication is time consuming. I appreciate these are our business issues which we need to find solutions for and apologise again the service you received was not at the standard Aston’s customers normally receive. Please speak to the branch manager next time you are in if you have any concerns.

    Had my Flu Vaccination here, fast friendly service. Didn't even have an appointment they did it whilst I collected my medication.
