  1. Review titled Pharmacist rude and dismissive

Rated 1 star out of 5

I wanted to buy dulcolax and anusol. For obvious reasons I would have thought. Well the pharmacist didn’t think it was that obvious because he asked ‘what do you want them for?’ To which my response was for obvious reasons ‘wink wink’ I don’t want to explain myself whilst I speak to you through a plastic screen, your wearing a face mask and I can’t u detest and your accent. I had to raise my voice over the screen to ask for a private chat, at which point they assumed I was being aggressive. I am quiet spoken and was just trying to explain. At which point he looked me up and down and said well I’m not serving you and walked away. I asked for private space (consultation room) to discuss but he refused . I asked to be served by someone else but was refused. At this point an older lady who was serving decided to tell me it was his right to refuse. She was also not listening and refused to discuss, shouting at me while turning her back and walking away. I got annoyed and raised my voice, I also started to get triggered. I have autism and adhd. I decided to take my shopping out to the car and deescalate. Am I presenting unintentionally as aggressive due to my anxiety, ok maybe I’ll calm down. I return to the store calm and asked for the pharmacist to speak to me again. I told him I have autism and adhd and it’s difficult to communicate through the screen when you are wearing a mask. He said I’m not serving you and walked away again. He shouted call security. Security arrived and I tried my best to be logical and explain the misunderstanding. But once again I was accused of being aggressive. There is a difference between standing up for yourself and being assertive to being aggressive. There is a difference to being aggressive and having to raise your voice to shout over a screen. It’s shocking that all I was trying to do was buy some constipation medication and they had me surrounded by three security (one turned out to be the manager apparently). The police were called because the pharmacist refused to have a civil conversation. The police said there was no issue and I was not presenting as aggressive and I was sent on my way. All this is, is shocking customer service and a complete lack of regard. Asda, 89 Dunkeld Road Perth PH1 5AP

  2. Review titled Rude and unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

I called this pharmacy to ask if they did the morning after pill and was advised they did. I asked if you needed to book or anything and I was told no. As this was for my daughter, I told her and she went straight away. The pharmacist was quite rude when seeing her and instead of taking her into a private room, asked if she could do it out the front. Made it quite clear it wasn’t a free service, not that we were expecting it to be. The pharmacist started asking questions about dates etc and ‘then’ asked for i.d. My daughter said she was 19 and didn’t have any i.d as she has lost her passport but had a photo of it and showed her. The pharmacist disappeared round the back and came back and said they needed i.d still and can she go back home and get it! Why not ask this first, ‘before’ starting the consultation? My daughter said she had walked there and would need to walk back and then back again and wasn’t close. My daughter called me, upset in the store as she just wanted some help. I called the pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist who was quite rude to me also but saying she needed to see i.d just as you would if you were to buy alcohol or certain meds. I asked why this wasn’t mentioned when I called and she said because it was the assistant I spoke to. In that case, educate the assistant or don’t let them answer the phone! It doesn’t tell you on your website about needing i.d nor on the nhs website where we went for the information in the first place. Under 16’s can get this in confidence, so why are they needing i.d? The pharmacist told me to call 111 and my daughter can get a prescription for free then. So, rather than paying for one, we will put extra pressure on the nhs ‘and’ send a young girl away who needed help! We did call nhs 111 and the lady was so lovely and the first question she asked was if my daughter had been sexually assaulted, obviously just in case. This wasn’t even asked by the pharmacist at asda, just a rude look up and down! Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional behaviour. Thank heavens my daughter is comfortable talking to me, considering she had been sent away from a place that is supposed to offer help and advice at her time of need. I think this is dangerous as the pharmacist knew nothing about my daughters mental health or disabilities; but I guess having i.d is more important than my daughter taking responsibility and having the confidence to go and ask for help - as opposed to possibly bringing a child into this chaotic world!
