Time scales are incorrect. You will be seen sooner with Camhs They added 6 months to my additional waiting time in comparison to Camhs. I was quite specific in asking this question to Camhs, they emailed me confirming it would be sooner than waiting with them, unfortunately this is not the case and I can’t go back to Camhs as I will start the waiting process again. Psicon themselves were extremely friendly until I questioned their waiting times then they became defensive and rude and the advisor began sniggering in the background to a colleague. Avoid

I found my experience with Psicon from the initial point of contact extremely efficient, courteous, professional, engaging and helpful. I was very unsure, scared and somewhat discombobulated by the thought of the actual assessment as I personally found filling out the pre-assessment papers difficult (delving into the self and past). However, the actual experience was in fact in reality very easy going, all the staff from booking in, to completion of the assessment and immediate oral fed back on the assessment itself were truly done with great courtesy, empathy and efficiency. I think the environment and setting was also conducive to a warm, relaxed and humanising experience. I am most grateful to those in the NHS and at Psicon with the help and assistance they have given and commend them for it. The unravelling of my life over the last five years when autism started to be mentioned has been extremely difficult for me on a personal, physical and mental health level. This assessment has helped me start to build a framework of understanding of myself as I Invariably spent a lot of time looking back over my life and wondering whether my reaction to XYZ or that happening of ABC maybe it was because of my autism. I still don’t nor may never know, but it bothers me less I guess. Since the assessment I feel a degree lightness and ease of mind as it were, it’s kind of difficult to fully encapsulate my exact feelings and thoughts but I think/believe the assessment has helped this sense of “lightness and ease of mind” I cant quite fully describe. All in all I would say it was most definitely a most positive and helpful experience.

The whole process was efficient, quick and easy. Every staff member was very personable, kind and understanding. My son was put at ease during the assessment and not rushed. The next steps were explained fully. I would have no hesitation in recommending Psicon to family and friends. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you!

Despite being told the process could take up to two years we were pleasantly surprised that we moved through the assessment process in less than a year. Staff were always friendly, knowledgeable and kept us informed every step of the way.

I was assessed by Psicon for ADHD. All the way through the process every staff member I dealt with was kind, helpful and empathic. They explained every part of the process clearly and proactively followed up with me as necessary to ensure that the process was smooth, efficient and as stress free as possible. The assessment itself was carried out by a qualified Psychiatrist, who was a specialist in ADHD and also works in the NHS. The psychiatrist was professional and kind and clearly explained what would happen in the assessment, the outcome and next steps. I felt like I was in safe hands. The experience I had with Psicon was one of the best experiences I have had with a healthcare provider in a long time.

I am not sure if these guys sit and stare at a phone ringing? But after 4 days continuously ringing being told I am number 1 in the queue and then being cut off is more than frustrating!

The Psychologist I saw was brilliant. They quickly got to grips with what I was struggling with and helped me find new ways of approaching the issues, allowing me to get back to living my life well. The admin team were always efficient and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the provider if I felt I needed to in the future.

From appointment booking to reception to assessment and follow up the interactions and people were charming, kind and pleasant. There was no ambiguity and outcomes were shared openly. A positive experience.

The team at Psicon were extremely supportive, highly professional & organised. They were prompt with responding to any questions we had. The information sent through was clear & concise. The team put our daughter & ourselves at ease & the environment was really child friendly. They were empathetic & put us all at ease. The process was smooth & well organised. I would highly recommend this organisation for anyone looking for a private ASD assessment.
