I have been under my Respiratory Consultant for two years following long covid. In that time I have received out standing care. My lung function is now normal and my chronic fatigue is minimal and all aspects of my health issues have been addressed. My Consultant has been absolutely fantastic and such a support through difficult times. I couldn’t have asked for better care. Such a shame I’m unable to name my Doctor.

Receptionists very helpful and friendly and put me at ease. The doctor was thorough and explained all options. Felt confident of the option taken.

I received a letter to attend an appointment and it was explained by my Dr that this was for the procedure. After driving 40mins to my appointment I was given paperwork about the procedure and that they will contact me again with another date. I thought this appointment was a complete waste of time and I was very frustrated as I had to move a lot of things around to get there. I have a son with additional needs and it takes a lot for me to plan to have time out for this kind of appointment. I've been told I the next appointment won't be for a couple of months as they run a reduced clinic so why waste time with appointments like the one I had which should have been a phone appointment if one at all. Sorry to complain but I was very upset and frustrated at the time.

Been having physio treatment due to lower back pain and a pars defect. Physio had to go away initially and read up on back pain and how to alleviate issues (surely this is one of the most common issues they treat). Their plan was to perform more abdominal exercises (fair enough) but then immediately said there’s no evidence that this will actually help, but let’s do it anyway . I then spoke with my specialist consultant who said I must do hamstring strengthening and exercises for back pain as the two are related. Surprisingly he again had no knowledge that this was important. I’m surprised and a little concerned about the lack of expertise this physio had and how little information he has on his own subject matter. I won’t be returning

I had a spiratory test which I didn't find very easy at times but I was given time to repeat the test until I was doing it right

Waited to see the gynaecologist for 3 months. To be told that the pain is in my head. Literally. However, she did prescribe some gel to ease the pain. Went to the pharmacy to collect the prescription. And then I was told that the prescription was filled incorrectly. None of the pharmacies could give me medicine until the doctor corrected the prescription. Went back to the hospital to get someone to fix it. I've been told that the only doctor who can rewrite a prescription. They will get her to do it when she is in, which is in a month… that's my experience with Dorking hospital

My visit to Dorking hospital was made easy by the parking arrangements, very close to the hospital entrance. Booking in was hassle free and the waiting area was clean and comfortable. My appointment went ahead at the scheduled time and my consultant was great. She was able to explain in layman's terms exactly what my issue was, the options for dealing with it, and explaining the pros and cons of each option. After further discussion we agreed a course of action, which will be implemented at an agreed date. It's great that a consultant has taken the time to get to the bottom of what is causing my pain and will be making my life easier in the future.

This was my second appointment at Dorking Community Hospital with the Neurologist. It was easy to park the car and comfortable in the waiting room. The Consultant took time listening to my replies to her questions and I didn’t feel rushed. She explained the diagnosis and what further referrals she thought appropriate. I was very satisfied with her thoroughness.

Although I had to wait to see my consultant, the consultation was half an hour late, the consultant was professional and explained what would happen with the procedure. I was then advised on what would help with my problem.

Excellent hospital, small carpark but got a space straight away and the added bonus was that it's free!!!. Friendly staff from receptionist through to medical staff. Arrived 15mins early but was seen straight away. Would highly recommend this hospital.
