I recently had to undergo surgery for a knee replacement at WGH. I would like to say that All the staff showed care and compassion well beyond the expected limits. From admission, through surgery and recovery, the standard of care was exceptional. I do not intend to witter on about individual performances because each member of the team, in their own way, showed an outstanding degree of care and professionalism. The NHS gets a lot of bad press and I feel it my duty to praise the staff when praise is indeed due. Not forgetting the catering staff who provided delicious food for people who, because of their surgery, were not really in a position to enjoy it but they did. A huge thank you to all the staff and if I am unfortunate enough to require hospitalisation in the future then WGH will be my first port of call. Kind Regards, Roy Scott.

First time I have been there and from meeting the receptionist, the radiologist and then the consultant was a refreshing experience compared to other Infirmaries. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful and to be actually seen before my appointment time and completing the session so quickly was remarkable. Thank you.

I was seen and treated quickly by a lovely team. I had not been looking forward to the appointment but it was a better experience thanks to the team looking after me.

I attended the cardiac centre for an ultrasound of my heart and examination of my coronary arteries . I arrived at 8 am and was admitted immediately to the ward . I had an ecg and was in theatre by 9 30 and discharged by 1 30pm .The staff were kind and considerate and kept me fully informed both before the procedure and afterwards .I could not have expected a higher standard of care and I am very grateful to all the staff who cared for me .

It is unfortunate that my previous negative reviews have not received a response. On obtaining dental records it has bcome to ligjt that not one dentist icluding emergency visit to out of hours dental service on December 31 2023 due to toothache for which I was ecommended o visit my own NHS dentist has picked up on the fact that I have been diagnosd with osteocrenosis of thejaw. A rare and horrendously condiyion which can only be due to poor dental care and isincureable andbelieve this is due to infections which began in 2015 at he RLI due to sugery reving an impacted wisdom. tooth with the wound left unsutured. This has been complicated by the fact that noloval dentist has offered to refer me to this service. It is also complicated by recent discovery os osteopororis. I had sugested I be referred back tothe specialist neurological hospotal who remain the only plac who hav been able to treat me for the rare conditions I suffer from which is physical nerve condition. But he fact that there has been no effort to refer me to this local service despite the nature and urgency of treatment is utterly appalling as is tje fact thst his condtion has not been notived at all by local NHS dental services

The service is highly efficient with friendly well trained individuals, that work well as a team. I was seen while on holiday in the area. I was seen quickly and the Doctor was excellent. Thank you.

I received more treatment and care in 90 mins at urgent care than in the 2 months I’ve been faffing around at my gp’s. Everyone was genuinely warm and sympathetic, helpful and efficient. Extremely impressed and grateful. Thankyou

Visit was slick and efficient. Doctor was incrediblle, X-Ray super fast and results and diagnois all done within a coupleof hours. Fantastic team. Thank you.

Just a note to say a thank you to all the kind , helpful and very proffessional staff at Westmorland General Hospital. From the Consutant who saw me and to all the general staff and nurses. It was great to see the Consutants wheeling patients into their clinic. What could have been a difficult experience was ameliorated by all those l came into contact with. A great team.
